After the Avs shut them out last Sunday, the Dallas Stars hope for revenge on their home ice. The revenge probably won’t come in the same package, as Marty Turco likely won’t shut a team out any time soon. Then again, Alex Auld has started four of the last six games in his stead and may get the call again tonight.
The Stars’ offense is quietly humming along, largely thanks to Brad Richards’ continued excellence and Loui Eriksson, who is quietly ahead of last season’s point-scoring pace. Even for a tough opponent like Colorado, Dallas is a challenging opponent in its own building; the Stars are 12-2-2 in their last 16 home games (and 1-9-2 in their last 12 road games). 
Before Josh Harding and the Minnesota Wild shut them out last night, the Avs were flying high, riding a six-game winning streak and allowing two goals in a four-game stretch. So was last night the start of a slump or a blip on the radar?
I doubt the speedy, energetic Avs begin a lengthy slump but I do see a loss in their future tonight. They just played a hard –fought loss last night and may be a bit gassed, whereas the Stars will be cozy at home.
And it’s hard to ignore Dallas’ success in Texas.
