Here is a look at each of the eight remaining teams and their odds of winning the Stanley Cup.

Odds to win the 2014 Stanley Cup

Boston Bruins +250

The Bruins made short work of a good Red Wings team, and have widely been regarded as the best team in hockey for the better part of the season. The team certainly has a winning pedigree, appear in the Stanley Cup Final in two of the last three seasons, winning once.

Goaltender Tuukka Rask has been in fine form, and the team’s defense corps remains one of, if not the best, in hockey.

Chicago Blackhawks +450

The Blackhawks have talent from top to bottom. They are certainly top-heavy, but after years of working to get there, the team has re-solidified its depth, and is now in a position to make a run at a second consecutive Cup.

They’ll have a tough time getting out of the Western Conference, though getting past the Blues is a major step in the right direction, and drawing a Wild team that they dispatched of quite handily a year ago bodes well for their chances.

Anaheim Ducks +600

The Ducks had a little more trouble with the Stars than they probably would have liked to, and their remain plenty of questions in goal for the team, though it was a major positive to see them continue to dominate in their own building.

Also, picking up a big win via a significant comeback in Game 6 to down the Stars could be a turning point for the team going forward.

Pittsburgh Penguins +600

The Penguins remain a very flawed team, yet they have so much talent on their top two lines that they remain a favorite in just about every series.

The team can’t have confidence in goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury after another shaky series, though the way they were able to just about score at will against a good Blue Jackets back end makes them very dangerous.

Montreal Canadiens +800

The Canadiens looked like world-beaters in their opening round series with the Lightning, though it felt like that had more to do with the Lightning failing to show up. The Canadiens could be in for a rude awakening in the next round when they take a major step up in class against the Eastern Conference favorite Boston Bruins.

Los Angeles Kings +900

The Kings became just the fourth team in NHL history to come from behind to win a series after being down 3-0. The team seems to have figured out the issue they had on the back end early in the series, and if Jonathan Quick is in fact back in form, then the rest of the conference will have plenty to worry abou.

New York Rangers +1200

The Rangers started the year slow with their new head coach, and Henrik Lundqvist’s annual slow start to the year. The team was strong in the second half of the year and into the playoffs, and offer some significant value with a favorable second round matchup against a flawed Penguins team.

After that, it isn’t out of the question that Lundqvist steals them a series or two.

Minnesota Wild +1800

The Wild did a heck of a job against a green Avalanche team, picking up a big win on the road in Game 7 to advance, but they’re going to be taking a big step up in class against a Blackhawks team that just brushed them aside in the opening round a year ago.

Issues between the pipes could pose a problem as well, as it sounds as if Darcy Kuemper’s status is up in the air.
