Why Aren’t You Betting On Hockey?

Every year I watch people lose out on hockey and it drives me nuts. Typically I tell all of my customers to “only bet on what you know”. But if you’re a sports bettor, then why aren’t you taking advantage of our lazy NHL lines?

What’s a lazy line? Simple – during the football season, and especially during March Madness, oddsmakers have a tendency to forget about hockey for two reasons. The first reason is simply that it’s not a sport that a lot people wager on. Second of all, most people in the continental US couldn’t care less about the NHL. The question I ask you, the betting investor is this: if you want to make money, why aren’t you stretching your capital as far as you can?

Betting on hockey is threefold, just like any other major team sports. There is a puckline, which is the hockey spread that is typically set at 1.5 goals just like in baseball betting. The moneyline grants you a straight-up victory and the O/U is usually set at 5 goals.

Teams tend to follow NHL betting trends quite well. Usually teams will go on streaks, and if you buy in at the right time, you can ride it out on the way to more winnings. Rarely does a team disappoint their betting faithful on a regular basis. Just ask all of those people that backed the Penguins and Detroit during the season. Pittsburgh, for example, went 47-27-8 (win-loss-overtime loss) so if you were taking their favorable moneylines, then you were cashing out huge.

The best part about you freeplay bonus lovers is that hockey action counts towards the rollover. If you decide to take a bonus with us, why not bet on hockey to help you generate more action? To me, it only makes sense. I’m not saying to bet all over the boards like a madman.

Instead, pick three or four teams that you like. Maybe you’re from Philadelphia so you angle on the Flyers. Or you were born in Canada and ice runs through your veins so you cheer for one of the six teams in Canada. Whatever your interest is, follow how those four teams are doing, and when you see a favorable spread or moneyline then jump all over it! These teams play 3-4 games a week, so there’s plenty of opportunity. Success is a combination of talent plus opportunity and timing. It’s no different in the sports gambling world.

Don’t Let the NHL season pass you by if you decide, but you’ll be losing out on so much betting potential that I’ll question whether you’re really at BetUS Sportsbook to make some money or not. The BetUS Locker Room is filled with free hockey picks all season and we have a great account management staff that can help you along the way.
