Philadelphia pulled off what may be considered a surprise last year against the Giants in the playoffs, as they went to the Meadowlands and came away with a 23-11 win to advance to the NFC championship game. Last week the Eagles were able to rebound from their loss to the lowly Raiders as they cruised to an easy win over new “de facto” head coach Sherman Lewis and the Washington Redskins, which brought profit to their backers in the NFL betting lines. The Giants played their second straight disappointing game, as they were beaten by Arizona. Football Picks

We must say that at least the Giants did not let Kurt Warner go wild with his passing attack the way drew Brees dominated them the previous week in New Orleans. They did have some breakdowns on the special teams, though. It is worth noting that the Giants are probably the best road warriors in the NFL, having won 19 of their last 23 and covering 17 of 20 in the NFL betting lines. That’s actually sizzling, and it has been demonstrated that the New Orleans debacle notwithstanding, they play better when they leave the state of New Jersey.

Okay, so they’re crossing just over the state line here, but it might make a world of difference. They have covered the last four times they have visited the City of Brotherly Love. They can run the ball better, especially in light of the fact that Bryan Westbrook is iffy following his concussion against Washington. The Eagles have been playing mix-and-match on the offensive line, a necessity with all the injuries, and this is a real concern against a Giants pass rush whose capabilities are well-known.

McNabb has been intercepted only once this season, but he was marginalized by the Giants last season, with only 5.6 yards per attempt. He went down six times against Oakland a couple of weeks ago, although it can be argued that he has the most stunning receiving threat on the field in DeSean Jackson (20 yards per catch). Of course, Steve Smith of the Giants (594 yards) may have an argument there, and we think Eli Manning (just six sacks) may have an easier time finding him.

What it may come down to is whether you think the Giants have enough mental toughness to rebound from their back-to-back losses. We do, and wil lay a point with them in the BetUS NFL betting lines.

One reply on “Week 8 Giants vs. Eagles NFL Predictions”

There must be some heavy money on the G-Men as I had the Eagles as 3 point favorites early in the week. This will be a tight game either way as these two teams usually go down to the wire when they meet. I’m a homer and the Eagles are playing at home so take the Birds.
