Rams vs. Jaguars NFL Week 6 Expert Picks

The fans at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium will be treated to a game between the St. Louis Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars when they take their seats on Sunday. We preview and pick this week 6 game that has the Jags picked to win by 10…

NFL Week 6 Lock Alert – St. Louis vs. Jacksonville

Jacksonville Tries to Get a Home Win Over St. Louis

I mean, nobody expected Matt Hasselbeck to come back last Sunday. But then again, nobody expected the Jaguars to get blanked 41-0 last week in Seattle. No points?! None?? Now the Jags get to return home and get a verifiable gift from the schedule makers by hosting the St. Louis Rams, who are winless SU and just 1-4 ATS. Oh yeah, and they’re also cruising on an 0-15 SU losing streak that goes back to Week 6 from 2008.

The Rams will get Marc Bulger back in this game, but I don’t think it’s really going to matter that much. If anything good came out of last week’s loss to Seattle, it was that Jacksonville got some continuity between David Garrard and Bulger’s former favorite target, Torry “Don’t Forget That Second R” Holt.

Holt who played his entire career in St. Louis before asking to leave to go to a contender (and for some reason only signed in Jacksonville), will get a nice taste of revenge when he gets to show his former team what he still has left. The Jaguars will also put Mike Sims-Walker, their best receiver, back on the field after deactivating him for violating team rules last weekend. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

St. Louis Rams (0-5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3)
Sunday, October 18th — Municipal Stadium, Jacksonville — 1:00pm EST

NFL Betting Line: Jacksonville -9.5 (43)

The Rams are 1-4 ATS this season, and the Jags aren’t that much better. But when a team is on the verge of imploding, facing a team that ranks second-last in points allowed can be an instant cure-all. With Sims-Walker back in the fold, Mojo and Garrard can get back to work and stay competitive in the AFC South instead of getting run out of the building by the NFC West.

Keep in mind that the Jaguars are 0-2 SU/ATS against the NFC West this season, losing to the Cardinals and Seahawks. The Rams are a much worse football team than anything on the open market right now, so I’m giving the Jags the benefit of the doubt. They have to crush this team, or nobody will take them seriously down the stretch.
