NFL Week 6 Betting – Kansas City Chiefs vs. Washington Redskins

Kansas vs. Washington in Most Unwatchable Game of the Week

Oh good grief. I thought last week’s schedule was bad, but I had no idea the freaking Chiefs would be playing the damn Redskins this weekend! The Week 6 NFL betting ugly blemish will pit the winless Matt Cassel crusade against the Jason Campbell letdown experience. Awesome stuff. Might as well throw some money just so you care a little.

The Chiefs and Redskins only have one spread win apiece. On top of that, the Chiefs are 1-13 SU on the road, despite showing some life at home against Dallas last weekend. The Redskins, meanwhile, continue to be the most untrustworthy bet outside of Jake Delhomme. They lost to Carolina last week, have gone 1-7 ATS at home and are giving up 16.4 points a game, which would be fine if they weren’t only getting 14.6 points per game from Jason Campbell and Clinton Portis. What did I like about the Chiefs last week? They found resolve and held on in a game that Dallas couldn’t tear away from them until overtime. Dallas has playmakers, but Washington doesn’t. Sure, Santana Moss can erupt at any moment, but the Chiefs actually have a strong secondary. They give up 270.0 yards, but cornerbacks Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr are too quick to let Moss get behind them.

Kansas City Chiefs (0-5) vs. Washington Redskins (2-3)
Sunday, October 18th — FedEx Field, Washington — 1:00pm EST
NFL Betting Line: Washington -6.5 (37)

The Chiefs are a bad team that took a step in the right direction last weekend. The Redskins are a good team that has been stumbling backwards like a drunk homeless man trying to cover Kobe Bryant one-on-one. The records speak for themselves, but they don’t tell the whole story.

In a game that I think the Chiefs will keep awfully close, I can’t take the Redskins at home when they’ve failed to cover so often. Bet the Chiefs and thank me later. They can’t go winless all season right? Right?

If the Redskins lose this one, it will be the third team that got their first win of the season against them. Look for Washington to circle the wagons and get a win for the embattled head coach, Jim Zorn.

As far as betting this one take the 6 1/2 because the Chiefs will be able to keep it close.
