Week 4 Bills vs. Dolphins NFL Predictions

The division rival Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are set to renew hostilities on Sunday when they meet at Land Shark Stadium. We preview and pick this week 4 game that has the Bills picked to win by 1…

NFL Game Day Picks: Buffalo vs Miami

Terrell Owens was supposed to be a savior of sorts for Buffalo (at least that’s what they were hoping he’d be), but instead he was held without a catch last week. Personally, the crap that T.O. gets for being angry on the sidelines while his team is losing is unfair. The Bills were getting man handled by the Saints defense. What did you want him to do? Smile? Don’t be an idiot.

Owens, like everyone in Buffalo, expects this offense to be more potent than it has been. They’ve averaged just 186.7 passing yards because Trent Edwards has not stepped up to be a gamer. Owens has been under utilized, but so has Lee Evans. With Fred Jackson, they’ve averaged 132.3 rushing yards per game. Now Marshawn Lynch is back, pushing Jackson to third-down duties. Lynch is a much fiercer talent than Jackson, and he’s out to prove that he’s ready to put Buffalo on his back. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

On the other sideline, the Miami Dolphins also have questions about their supposedly potent backfield. Ronnie Brown is the main man, but Ricky Williams is proving to be indispensable. The two have combined for 417 yards and three scores on the ground, but have also added 13 receptions for 101 yards and a score by Williams as receivers. Which backfield is poised to make some noise on Sunday?

The Dolphins are going to force to start their future quarterback in Chad Henne, whose arm strength should get more out of Tedd Ginn Jr. than Chad Pennington’s arm ever could. But is he ready? Henne looked anything but polished against the Chargers, going 10-of-19 for 92 yards and a pick against the Chargers. He’ll get some relief because Donte Whitner and Leodis McKelvin, two defensive starters in the secondary, are out with heavy injuries.

The Bills have gone 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against Miami. They’re also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 in Miami and 4-1 ATS on the road. They’re a much better bet than the 1-4 ATS Miami Dolphins, who are also winless in their last five at home.

That being said, I think that in a virtual pick ‘em, the Bills get the edge with Marshawn Lynch offering more versatility to this offense. Jackson has played admirably, but he was limited as a rusher and used more as a dump-off receiver out of the backfield. I’m not sold on Chad Henne (yet) and I think the we’ll finally get to enjoy the Bills offense we were supposed to see before Lynch was suspended. Start all your Bills (except Edwards) in Fantasy this weekend.
