NFL Week 4 Re-cap – Rams Take out Frustrations on KC

The NFL wasn’t short of drama on Sunday as two major upsets caused some football betting fans reeling. Other teams solidified their status as terrific worthy playoff contenders while some seemingly up and comers were brought back down to earth.

Let’s get to some of the more interesting happenings on Sunday!

Buffalo Bills vs. St Louis Rams – – The BetUS sportsbook online wagering spread had the Rams as a nine point underdog at home. I had no problem laying the points on the Bills because the Rams are a terrible, awful, self destructive team. They ended up losing the game 31 to 14. The fall guy is coach Scott Linehan who found himself jobless this morning. Former Saints coach Jim Haslett will take over in the interim. Will it help? I stated last week that this team could go 0 and 16. I stand by that because these guys are terrible.

Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys – – The Cowboys are considered the best team in the NFL. Even stalwart fans of their NFC East rivals had to consider that after they blew through Cleveland, Philadelphia and Green Bay in the first three weeks of the season. For NFL betting fans, the problem with the ‘Boys was that they had only covered two of those three online betting spreads. Well, they didn’t get close on Sunday losing to the Redskins straight-up even though they were favored by 11 ½ points. It was a close game and speaks volumes of how tough the NFC East is. The Cowboys lost 26 to 24 in this one. What we really need to remember is that Dallas in most games is going up against some very difficult online sportsbook wagering spreads. They could have trouble covering in a few games this year.

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs – – The Broncos needed Martin Grammatica to miss a last minute field goal to secure a victory versus the New Orleans Saints two Sundays ago. This Sunday they just go wholloped on the road versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The BetUS sportsbook football betting spread had the Broncos as 10 ½ point favorites. The Chiefs beat them 33 to 19. Denver’s defense is just awful and their quarterback, Jay Cutler, made some serious mistakes in this game. This could be the sign of another Broncos’ meltdown.

San Diego Chargers vs. Oakland Raiders – – The Chargers had to score 25 points in the fourth quarter. Well, they didn’t have to, but they did. They stormed back from a nice sized deficit versus the Raiders to beat Oakland 28 to 18. The Chargers actually covered for NFL betting fans as the against the spread online betting line was only 9 points. That’s crazy. Oakland is not a bad team. Whoever ends up coaching these guys after Al Davis fires Lane Kiffin needs to really think about strategy. This team is giving it up late in games. That shouldn’t be happening and is a sign of mental weakness as opposed to overall physical ability. Don’t be surprised if online football betting fans will need to adjust how they view the Raiders against the spread in upcoming weeks.

San Francisco 49’ers vs. New Orleans Saints – – The 49’ers needed to have a good game against the Saints before I could put them into the playoff race. They didn’t. In fact, the Saints not only beat them up offensively but they beat them up on the defensive end as well. It’s surprising what can happen when you can switch things up in the backfield by handing the ball off to both a lightning quick scat back in Reggie Bush and a bruiser like Deuce McAllister. McAllister was brilliant in his first game back from knee surgery. It was good to see because Deuce is one of the nicest fellas in the NFL. The Saints ended up destroying the 6 ½ point online wagering spread by beating the 49’ers 31 to 17.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Tennessee Titans – – Talk about a team with a bruiser and a scat back! In LenDale White and Chris Johnson the Titans have arguably the best running back tandem in the NFL. It’s the Titans’ defense that could make them magical this season. They are now 4 and 0 after handing the Vikings their third loss out of four games so far this season. The Titans were only favored by 3 ½ online betting points since a lot of NFL betting fans and the BetUS online sportsbook odds makers continue to give Minnesota the benefit of the doubt. Forget that. The fact of the matter is that Tennessee is one of the best coached teams in the NFL. Give Kerry Collins time and he will find the open receiver. If this team stays under the online wagering radar, then football betting fans had better start to take notice.

Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Jets – – The Jets went into this game as 4 ½ point favorites against the BetUS online sportsbook wagering spread. I really thought that the Cardinals had a chance to not only beat the spread but to win this game straight-up. Maybe it was the ugly ass uniforms that the Jets showed up in. Maybe it was the fact that Favre really got to thinking that he was better than that Aaron Rodgers kid who replaced him in Green Bay. In any case Favre threw six touchdowns and the Jets rolled to a 56 to 35 victory over the Cardinals. Are the Jets back? Who knows in the topsy-turvy AFC Conference!

Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – – It came down to kicker Matt Bryant for the Bucs who had just lost a son earlier in the week and Bryant came through. He kicked the winning field goal against the Green Bay Packers. That was good news for both the Bucs and online wagering fans that backed Tampa Bay at – 1 in the BetUS online betting sportsbook. Aaron Rodgers had a terrible day. It proved two things – – that the Bucs’ defense is one of the best in the NFL and that Rodgers has a ways to go before becoming an elite quarterback. Green Bay has now lost two games in a row.
