The Battle of Ohio – Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday October 4 – Cleveland Browns Stadium, OH
NFL Betting Odds: Bengals -5.5, O/U: 38.5
The battle of Ohio from the dog pound features one team riding a two-game winning streak and another team that has scored one offensive touchdown in 8 games. The Bengals could easily be 3-0 if it were not for a fluke Denver touchdown in the dying seconds of their Week One loss. Cincinnati made a statement with their come from behind win against the defending champion Steelers last week. The Browns are making a case for being the worst team in the league.

What The Bengals Have To Do To Win:
After wins in Green Bay and at home against Pittsburgh the Bengals better not overlook the Browns. Defensively they have been outstanding against two elite quarterbacks the last two weeks and they will need the same intensity against Derek Anderson who takes over behind center for Cleveland. Carson Palmer still does not look 100% so it should be a steady dose of Cedric Benson running the ball. Benson is proving why he was a high first-round pick giving the Bengals a powerful running game. If the Bengals don’t suffer a letdown, they should send the Browns to 0-4.
What The Browns Have To Do To Win:
Derek Anderson will need to find his former pro-bowl form quickly. The Browns offense has been a laughing stock and that will need to change if the Browns are to beat anyone. Josh Cribbs appears to be their only dangerous weapon on offense.
The Browns have only covered in one of their last 12 games and there are reports that the team has already tuned out new head coach Eric Mangini. The Browns have not even been competitive in any of their games this year and are in jeopardy of losing their tenth straight game overall. For the Browns to win, they will need Cincinnati to suffer a severe let down in a rivalry game.
Advice On The Side And Total:
While it is hard to lay this many points with the Bengals on the road, the Browns appear to be so bad that Cincinnati should be able to win by at least a touchdown. The Bengals are one play away from being 3-0 and all their hard work will be for not if they lose this game. Cincinnati’s defense is very under rated and should cause Derek Anderson fits as he has barely been on the field the last year.
Expect points to be at a premium and this will not be a shootout like the one we saw a couple years ago.

While last year both these teams stunk, but now only the Browns can be classified in that category. The Bengals will enjoy burying the other team from Ohio.
