NFL Sunday – Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings
Both the Minnesota Vikings and the Indianapolis Colts disappointed in Week 1 of the NFL. By far the Colts were the bigger disappointment. Indianapolis was a 10 ½ online betting favorite to beat the Chicago Bears. Not only did they lose to Chicago but they lost by 16 points. Peyton Manning looked terrible.
The defense couldn’t stop Kyle Orton, that’ right, Kyle Orton, and the rest of that splendid Bears offense from moving the ball.

The Vikings weren’t much better. The problem with the Vikings wasn’t their offense, it did about as well as could be expected this past Monday night in Green Bay, but it was their defense. Supposedly, the Vikings have one of better defenses in the NFL.
It definitely wasn’t on display on Monday night as the Packers threw against them and ran against them. Because the Vikings look to still be one-dimensional, all of the talk about Tarvaris Jackson improving over the off-season appears to be NFL Week Two Gambling – Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers just that, talk, Minnesota had to rely on Adrian Peterson to carry the load.
The problem, like I predicted when describing the Vikings’ true online wagering chances to win the Super Bowl this season, is that teams had an entire off-season to learn how to counterattack Peterson’s brilliance. Jackson has to start passing the ball with regularity or the Vikings are going to have a very long season.
