Week 11 Eagles vs. Bengals NFL Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Cincinnati Bengals who have just departed from the ranks of the winless, in NFL football action at 1 PM ET at Paul Brown Stadium. We preview and pick this week 11 game…

NFL Sunday Football Wagering – Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals

The Philadelphia Eagles (5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS) could win 10 games and still be guaranteed of nothing in the hyper-competitive NFC East. On Sunday they will take a trip that they hope is not a trap, as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals (1-8 SU, 3-6 ATS), who have just departed from the ranks of the winless, in NFL football sports betting action that is slated to kickoff at 1 PM ET at Paul Brown Stadium (artificial turf) in Cincinnati.

BetUS NFL betting odds: PHILADELPHIA -9, Total 41.5
NOTABLE STAT: Ryan Fitzpatrick averages just 4.8 yards per pass attempt

KEY NFL FOOTBALL BETTING TREND: Philadelphia has covered nine of its last ten road games

In the BetUS NFL football betting odds, the Eagles are listed as a nine-point road favorite, with a posted total of 41.5 points.

Here are some NFL football betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* PHIL has covered six of its last nine games
* PHIL has won eight of its last 12 games SU
* PHIL has covered nine of its last ten roadgames
* PHIL has won seven of its last ten road games SU
* PHIL has played four of its last five road games OVER the total
* CIN has covered two of its last six games
* CIN has lost eight of its last nine games SU
* CIN has played 10 of its last 15 games UNDER the total
* CIN has covered two of its last six home games
* CIN has played five of its last seven home games UNDER the total

Well, it looks like Carson Palmer is going to get some more bench time to rehabilitate his elbow injury. That leaves Ryan Fitzpatrick at the controls again for Cincinnati. In terms of accuracy, that’s not such a bad thing, as Fitzpatrick has completed 62% of his passes. But the Harvard grad does not matriculate the ball up the field all that well, throwing for just 4.8 yards an attempt, with is paltry at best. He has also been sacked 19 times and intercepted six times in his brief tenure of Bengal quarterback.

With their bye week, Cincinnati presumably had some extra time to prepare for the blitz packages offered by Philadelphia’s defensive coordinator, Jim Johnson. Those schemes have produced 28 sacks for the Eagles this season, so the relatively-inexperienced Fitzpatrick most certainly has something to worry about.

Meanwhile, what about Donovan McNabb? The Eagles’ QB (13 TD’s, 5 INT’s) definitely doesn’t hoof it like he used to. But he need not worry, as one thing Cincinnati has been this season is very courteous to opposing passers, as they have scored just nine sacks in nine games.

Sure, there are some encouraging signs for the Bengals. Cedric Benson was able to rush for 104 yards last time out, and Chad Johnson caught two TD passes from Fitzpatrick in that lone win, a 21-19 decision over Jacksonville. But Cincinnati has only scored 14 points a game. And here’s a piece of statistical data that’s interesting – Cincinnati has NO receivers who have averaged as much as ten yards a catch, while Philadelphia has six. Just thought we’d throw that one in there. Eagles are battling for wild card position right now, so there is no time for a letdown. And this team hardly does that on the road anyway, covering four of the last five as a visiting favorite.

We lay the points with the Eagles, the nine-point favorite in the BetUS Sportsbook NFL pro football sports betting odds.
