Josh Freeman Tries To Go For Two Against Miami

In his real season debut as a starter, Josh Freeman gave Tampa Bay something to finally rejoice. Freeman posted 205-yards on 14-of-31 completions for three touchdowns as the Bucs upset the Green Bay Packers at home to nothc their first win of the season.

Next up on the platter for Freeman is a go at the upstart Dolphins who need to start putting wins together if the playoffs want to be a realistic shot.

The 17-27 loss to the Patriots is misleading if you just look at the score. Miami was in control for much of that game until a late 71-yard touchdown by Randy Moss, and a few errors on the part of the Dolphins, sealed their fate in the fourth quarter. I love what Chad Henne is doing overall, but he has to start putting the ball in the endzone. On 19-of-34 completions for 219 yards he yielded zero scores. Miami is now 4-1 ATS overall but just 2-7 ATS at home.

Tampa Bay is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games, and they’ll be facing the league’s 26th ranked offense overall. Freeman doesn’t have the best receiving corps in the league, but Sammie Stroughter is making his touches count, as is Kellen Winslow. With Antonio Bryant, Freeman would have a serious playmaker on offense but knee troubles are catching up with Bryant who is still in a contract year. Still, the Fins give up 225.5 yards per game through the air so there’s room to work with for the talented Freeman.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-7) vs. Miami Dolphins (3-4)
Sunday, November 15th — Land Shark Stadium, Miami — 1:00pm EST
NFL Betting Line: Miami -10 (43)

The Dolphins are dangerous, but Tampa owns a haunting 3-0 SU/ATS record against them. Plus, the Dolphins aren’t exactly the type of team that can blow the scoreboard off its hinges. Until Chad Henne’s long bomb finds some targets that can hold on to the football, I don’t like any spread where Miami is favored by more than a touchdown. They’re a grind-em-up kind of team, and the Bucs have some fight in them after getting kicked around like stray dogs for seven straight weeks.
