The Browns have had an odd week, to say the least. While most teams try to relax and rejuvenate their physical and mental state during their bye week, the Browns in fact diminished theirs. They fired their general manager – even though the team says he hasn’t actually been released, they contact Mike Holmgren to see if he’s interested in taking over for when they fire lame duck head coach Eric Mangini and the players have publicly complained about their coach.

The Browns are a wreck right now but more importantly for this specific contest is the fact that the players are complaining about fatigue. It is only Week 10 in the NFL season and if the Browns are already worn out, they may not win another game this year.

Ravens offense versus Browns defense

The good news for the Ravens this week is they get to face the league’s worst defense. Baltimore put up a stinker in Cincinnati last week but the Bengals are a good, confident team. They face the exact opposite this week in Cleveland.

Quarterback Joe Flacco is coming off a horrible game – his worst of the year – but he may not have to do much work in this contest. The Browns are giving up 170.8 rushing yards per game and if the Ravens hand off to Ray Rice and Willis McGahee regularly, they should be just fine.

The Ravens racked up 479 yards of total offense in the first meeting this year, which was the second-most in franchise history. The Browns have actually deteriorated from that point.

Browns offense versus Ravens defense

The Browns will put Brady Quinn back into the starting quarterback role, who coincidentally lost his job the last time these two teams faced each other.

What Quinn will quickly notice is the offense has diminished since, believe it or not. Braylon Edwards is gone and Jamal Lewis is older and slower.

Quinn really doesn’t have much to work with but he’ll try to rely on receivers Mohammad Massaquio and Josh Cribbs. The Ravens cornerbacks are not what they used to be but the Browns don’t exactly have the weapons to exploit it.

Furthermore, Lewis has rarely had much success against his former team, which means the Browns may have to win while being one-dimensional on offense.

Outlook & Pick
The Browns are just a wreck right now. From the front office to the field, this is just a horrible franchise. There is a threat of a blackout because the stadium may not sellout for a Monday Night Football game and the fans are staging a rally not to take their seats until after kickoff so that a national audience can see an empty stadium as the bright lights shine.

If Baltimore gets off to a quick start – even with a field goal lead – that may be enough. The Ravens are a smart, veteran team with lots of weapons while the Browns are coming apart at the seams. Barring a miracle, the Ravens should win and cover.

Pick: Ravens -10
