The Chiefs struck gold in Chris Chambers while shedding the dead weight of Larry Johnson last week. Johnson, who cleared waivers and will wait till someone is dumb enough to sign him, was jettisoned due to his anti-gay remarks and overall baggage. In all honest, I’m sure the Chiefs have been looking a way to get rid of Mr. Can’t Get In The Endzone all season, and this just gave them reason. The Chiefs have been stalwart upset specialists on the football betting line against Oakland with a 5-0 ATS record when visiting the bay area.

KC is just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall, but they’ve gone a stiff 13-6 ATS on the road in the past 19 trips away from Arrowhead. Matt Cassel hasn’t been returning on the investment the Chiefs laid in to him this summer, but finally he has a viable veteran receiver in Chris Chambers who excels at receiving the deep ball that Cassel throws well. The Oakland Raiders secondary allows 212.3 yards through the air and 25.1 points per game so there will be plenty of room for Kansas’s offense to work with.

Oakland has been strong at covering big spreads, but they’ve been horrific when the oddsmakers peg them in a virtual pick ‘em.
The coaching staff for Kansas City Chiefs made a huge blunder in the fourth quarter of the last matchup between the two which allowed Darren McFadden to sneak in to the endzone. Though RUN DMC will be back in the fold this week, there’s no telling how far along he is with his foot injury…and you can bet on Kansas not making any kind of mistakes in the fourth as they carry on their strong performance against the betting line on the road.
