NFL Week 5 Review and a look ahead

Okay BetUS NFL sports betting members, Week 5’s action produced both, some expected – and unexpected – results that will almost assuredly have a bearing on the upcoming week’s action.

This glimpse back – and peek ahead, will give BetUS NFL betting members all of the insight they need to make a plethora of winning wagers in the bettor-friendly BetUS Sportsbook on the entire slate of thrilling Week 6 action in the BetUS NFL sports book.

Broncos 20 Patriots 17

I predicted this Broncos outright win in the BetUS Locker Room, expecting Denver’s outstanding defense to give a not-fully-healthy Tom Brady fits and needless to say, that’s exactly what happened. The Broncos are very for real BetUS NFL sports betting members, but I suspect the Patriots will have a say in which team wins the AFC title this season before it’s all said and done.

The Broncos will look to avoid their first loss of the season when they host a tough Chargers team while New England should prevail over a Titans team that has gone completely backwards just one season after going a blistering 13-3.

Giants 44 Raiders 7

This matchup was akin to putting Muhammad Ali in the ring with a three-year-old and I’m not playing around. I knew the point spread on this game was far too low and if you didn’t play this lock, shame on you. By the way, Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell went 8-for-13 for 100 yards – with three lost fumbles. Ouch!

The Raiders will undoubtedly fall at home to Philadelphia in Week 6 while the G-Men will hook up in a thriller at New Orleans .

Vikings 38 Rams 10

Maybe I should just copy and paste the previous paragraph, because the Rams are an absolute wreck and were completely overmatched against a Giants team that could have won this one with their backups.

Minnesota has a tough home contest looming against Baltimore in Week 6, while St. Louis will remain winless at Jacksonville.

Eagles 33 Buccaneers 14

Ho-hum. This contest didn’t tell NFL sports betting members very much at all as Philadelphia is a legitimate conference title contender – and the Buccaneers are absolutely awful.

Philadelphia has another ‘blowout’ game in Week 6 as they visit Oakland, while Tampa Bay has a winnable game at home against Carolina.

Bengals 17 Ravens 14

I don’t think there’s an NFL expert on the planet that saw this coming. Carson Palmer however, has been absolutely magical in the fourth quarter this season, pulling out victories in at least three games that appeared to be sure losses. Oh, by the way, I see exactly why Cedric Benson was the fourth overall draft pick in the 2005 draft. 120 rushing yards on 27 carries is no small feat against a Ravens defense that prides itself on stopping the run.

Cincy will have to stop an explosive Texans offense at home next week while Baltimore will try to avoid its third consecutive loss at Minnesota in Week 6.

Panthers 20 Redskins 17

Both of these uninspiring teams are mediocre at best this season. The Redskins lost despite the fact that Jake Delhomme threw for just 181 yards and DeAngelo Williams rushed for just 40 yards. Talk about ugly!

The Panthers have another winnable game in Week 6 as they hit the road to take on Tampa Bay while Washington hooks up in an ugly contest against Kansas City.

Cowboys 26 Chiefs 20

Even after winning, this game told me that the Dallas Cowboys are atrocious this season as they struggled mightily to beat a Chiefs team that barely has a pulse. Tony Romo is overrated and Larry Johnson is still a quitter.

The underachieving Cowboys have a Week 6 bye, while Kansas City has a winnable e road game against Detroit.

Steelers 28 Lions 20

This performance told me the Steelers are also pretty mediocre just one season after winning the Super Bowl, no less, while my advice that Detroit should have started veteran Daunte Culpepper from the start of the season also looks like solid advice after this contest.

Pittsburgh will undoubtedly beat Cleveland at home in Week 6 while Detroit has a divisional road matchup they will also lose when they face the Minnesota.

Browns 6 Bills 3

Jeez, the Bills are worse than I thought, scoring a pitiful three points against a Cleveland team. I wonder if head coach Dick Jauron is regretting firing offensive coordinator Turk Schonert one day after the Bills closed the preseason with a 17-6 loss to Detroit, duh.

Oh yeah, I’m still not impressed with Browns’ head coach ‘Eric Mangenius.’

Both teams here will be taking road losses next week as the Browns take on Pittsburgh and Buffalo plays the defensive-minded New York Jets.

Seahawks 41 Jaguars 0

Talk about a split personality! The Jaguars could drive Sigmund Freud absolutely nuts whole no team needs their starting quarterback more than Seattle needs Matt Hasselbeck. When the veteran signal-caller plays, The Seahawks can apparently play with almost any team in the league. When he doesn’t, Seattle can’t beat a Pop Warner team.

Seattle hosts the offensive-minded Cardinals team in Week 6 while the Jaguars while get back in the win column by beating the atrocious St. Louis Rams.

Falcons 45 49ers 10

The Falcons bounced back from their only loss of the season in fine fashion, trouncing a 49ers team that looked very good until Sunday’s debacle. If the Falcons can continue to play stellar defense, they will undoubtedly be in the hunt to win the NFC title, while the Niners will still contend for the NFC West title even after this humbling loss.

Atlanta should be able to beat the Bears at home in Week 6 while the 49ers have a much-needed bye in Week 6.

Cardinals 28 Texans 21

While the Cardinals evened their record at 2-2 with this victory, they still have big problems with an underachieving defense and no running game whatsoever. Houston clearly has a ‘split personality’ this season and are one of the most inconsistent – and difficult teams to wager on in the entire league.

Houston will likely fall to the surprising Bengals on the road next week while Arizona will have its hands full on the road at Seattle.
