NFL Week in Review – Surprises Aside

While Week 4 in the NFL provided some interesting ‘upsets’ I thought the week played out pretty much like I expected – and predicted – for my beloved NFL Sportsbook betting fanatics.

While this BetUS NFL original article will review all the Week 4 NFL happenings, NFL bettors everywhere can certainly use the brief comments below to assist them in making their Week 5 and future wagering selections.

With another week of entertaining football on the way before you know it; here is a brief review on all the Week 4 NFL action.

Redskins 26 Cowboys 24
I emphatically told BetUS NFL bettors last week to take the Redskins and the Over in this matchup, though I will admit that I didn’t see the total outright win for the Skins. Still, Washington is starting to look for real right now, making the NFC East trio of New York, Dallas and Philadelphia – an undeniable quartet.

Carolina 24 Atlanta 9
This game went just a I expected with the veteran Panthers putting on a solid defensive performance and getting their usual offensive production from Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith over a young Falcons team that is still headed in the right direction despite the loss.

Kansas City 33 Denver 19
Don’t bank on the Chiefs suddenly turning their season around bettors –this team is still atrocious despite their surprising victory. I also want to throw in the fact that the Broncos are absolutely hideous defensively so far this season and couldn’t stop running water if their collective lives depended on it!

New Orleans 31 San Francisco 17
NFL bettors should know that the Saints are going to go Over the spread a bunch this season with their still formidable offense. Expect this team to get better as the season wears on. The Niners took a big step backwards offensively in this contest, despite the fact that I predicted a loss for them here.

Tennessee 30 Minnesota 17
I kept telling NFL bettors and fans that the Titans are going to be a better offensive unit under Kerry Collins than they ever were under Vince Young and they’re making me look like a genius with that call! The Titans are for real NFL bettors and will contend for the AFC championship. The Vikings on the other hand, look like serious pretenders at this point.

Jets 56 Cardinals 35
I said the Over in this game was a lock but I didn’t mean the Jets would go Over by themselves. What a disappointment the Cardinals are – again!

Buccaneers 30 Packers 21
The Buccaneers certainly aren’t flashy but Jon Gruden keeps finding ways to help his team win. Don’t be surprised if the Bucs upset someone this postseason.

While Aaron Rodgers has done nothing to embarrass himself, the Packers are clearly lacking in too many areas to be considered contenders in the tough NFC at this point.

Jaguars 30 Texans 27
The Texans played their hearts out and have nothing to show for it – but another loss. The Jaguars, one of my top AFC contenders this season, still has a bunch of work to do as well.

Browns 20 Bengals 12
While I called this game incorrectly, I will go on record once again to say that neither of these teams will reach eight wins this season!

Chargers 28 Raiders 18
I called this game almost dead-on for NFL bettors, though it admittedly didn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the Raiders are nowhere near the Chargers in any facet of the game.

Bills 31 Rams 14
Ho-hum, the Bills destroyed the ‘Sisters of the Blind’… I mean the Rams, unmercifully in this contest and put some more grease on the skids for lame-duck Rams coach Scott Linehan.

Bears 24 Eagles 20
The Bears aren’t quite playing at the level they were two years ago when they made a run to the Super Bowl, but the Bears are finally getting competent play at quarterback. If their defense continues to play at a high level, this ‘Da Bears’ could contend for the NFC championship. The Eagles have nothing to be ashamed about with this loss. If the injured Brian Westbrook played in this contest, the Eagles would have won.
