Minnesota Vikings vs. New England Patriots

No one knows where the Minnesota Vikings would be today had they never sold themselves down the river for Brett Favre last year. Where they would stand if they had not turned the franchise over to an aging egomaniac who got to pick and choose if and when he would even show up for training camp while his teammate were sweating through two-a-days. But the Vikes made their deal with the devil, and now it has cost the team its soul.

Brad Childress is ticked at Favre after the Packers game for not following what purportedly was the game plan – turn and hand off to Adrian Peterson, then dink and dunk when it was absolutely necessary to throw the ball. Randy Moss would drag the dafeties down, opening up the middle for Percy Harvin. But game plans are for little people, not legends, and now at least the Vikings know that it’s Favre’s Way or the highway, with no middle ground. Sports Betting at Sportsbook.com

Favre gets to win the game with his arm, making impossible throws that only He can make. If we win, Favre gets the credit. Losses are for Chilly to deal with.

Yep, the Vikes have plenty of issues as they head to Foxboro on Halloween, and if Favre is telling the truth about his ankle and the head coach finally decides to grow a pair, we may have seen the last of No. 4’s consecutive-game streak. If the commissioner doesn’t get him for sending cell phone images of Little Brett back when he was with the Jets in 2008, the ankle might. Or maybe someone will stumble through the quarterback ratings and realize that Favre is 30th, and two players behind him both play for the Panthers.

New England has its own concerns, though at 5-1 the Patriots have more margin for error than the 2-4 Vikings do. NE had trouble moving the ball against San Diego last week, and its secondary seems as porous as it was early in the season. Without Moss attracting coverage, Wes Welker is having a hard time finding seams.

Picks: Even Bill Belichick would have a hard time holding things together, and a weak HC like Brad Childress has no chance. Favre will play, but the Drama King with the ankle injury the Drama King has left himself an out of/.when things go bad. “I tried, I really did. I could stand the pain, but just couldn’t move.” Later, ESPN will gush about what a warrior he is/was. Patriots cover, but in a low-scoring game.
