Free Week 14 NFL Totals Predictions

Its week Fourteen of the 2009 NFL season and we pick and preview all of the week 14 matchups from an OVER/Under NFL betting perspective this season…

NFL Week 14 Betting Preview

There was an even split between favorites and underdogs last week as eight teams getting points covered the spread. Of the eight, four teams; Oakland, Arizona, N.Y. Giants, and Miami won their games outright. Home teams had the slight edge with nine teams winning outright and ten teams winning against the spread.

For the third week in a row the under bet was the best play as 11 games stayed under the total, while only five went over.

Over the past three weeks 32 out of 48 games stayed under the total which translates to 67%.

Here is a rundown of all this week’s games and the current lines as supplied by MySportsbook.com..

Thursday, Dec. 10

Pittsburgh Steelers (-10) at Cleveland Browns
Over/Under 34

Pittsburgh has lost four straight and are in real danger of missing the post season, but the good news this week is that they are playing the Browns who they have beaten 12 times in a row. The Steelers and the OVER.

Sunday, Dec. 13

New Orleans Saints (-10.5) at Atlanta Falcons
Over/Under 52.5

So far this season the Saints have always found a way to win the game so I do not think Atlanta will win, but they will be able to keep it close. The Falcons and the OVER.

Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (-13)
Over/Under 39.5

The Raven’s offense has looked dismal lately and Detroit is averaging only 17 points per game so this score should stay fairly low. The Ravens and the UNDER.

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Chicago Bears
Over/Under 41

In their four game winning streak, Green Bay has averaged close to 30 points a game. Chicago has averaged 26 points a game in their six home games. The Packers and the OVER.

Seattle Seahawks at Houston Texans (-6)
Over/Under 44.5

Seattle is just 1-5 on the road this year, but Houston is only 2-4 at home and has lost four out of their last five games. The Seahawks and the UNDER.

Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts (-7)
Over/Under 44

Denver’s defense is ranked second in the league against the pass, but will be tested against the league’s #1 ranked passing offense. The Colts and the OVER.

Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)
Over/Under 44

Miami has played one of the toughest schedules in the league and at 6-6 still has a shot at winning the AFC East. Jacksonville’s seven wins have come against teams without a winning record. The Dolphins and the UNDER

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (-3)
Over/Under 37

Buffalo is ranked 27th in points per game at 16.7. Kansas City is ranked 28th with 16.2 points and have only won one game at home. The Bills and the UNDER.

Cincinnati Bengals at Minnesota Vikings (-6.5)
Over/Under 43

The pressure is actually on Minnesota in this game, coming off an ugly loss to Arizona. They need a win to maintain their lead in the division as well as a chance for a first round bye. The Vikings and the OVER.

Carolina Panthers at New England Patriots (-13.5)
Over/Under 44

New England’s lead in the AFC East is just one game as they are coming off a two game losing streak, but they are 6-0 at home this season. The Patriot’s and the OVER.

New York Jets (-5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Over/Under 39.5

At 6-6, New York still has an outside chance of making the playoffs while 1-11 Tampa Bay is struggling through one of their worst seasons in recent memory. The Jet’s and the UNDER

St. Louis Rams at Tennessee Titans (-13)
Over/Under 41.5

Tennessee will look to get back on track after last week’s loss to Indianapolis. Despite a 1-11 record, St. Louis has been able to keep most of their games close. The Rams and the UNDER.

Washington Redskins (-1) at Oakland Raiders
Over/Under 37.5

After three straight heart breaking losses in games they should have won, it is hard to say how much enthusiasm is left in this Redskin’s ball club. The Raiders and the UNDER.

San Diego Chargers at Dallas Cowboys (-3)
Over/Under 48.5

San Diego is on a roll and will be going for their eighth straight win, while Dallas is trying to fight off the demons of Decembers’ past. The Chargers and the OVER.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants (-1)
Over/Under 44

Philadelphia hope to have WR DeSean Jackson back for this game to add to their big play ability which they used to beat the Giants the first time they played. The Eagles and the OVER.

Monday, Dec. 14

Arizona Cardinals (-3) at San Francisco 49ers
Over/Under 44.5

Arizona QB Kurt Warner is playing his best ball of the year and will face a 49er’s defense that is ranked 27th against the pass. The Cardinals and the OVER.

The teams with 6-6 records or worse will have one more chance this week to keep their post season dreams alive. Look for Pittsburgh, N.Y. Jets, and Seattle to stay in the hunt with wins.
