The Giants arrive in Arlington to take 0n their old NFC East rival in primetime in Week 1, with the home team a narrow 2.5-point favorite.

But since odds makers commonly spot NFL home teams with a base three-point advantage, the odds here suggest that the Cowboys and Giants are pretty evenly matched in this one.

In fact, the teams split their meetings last season, with each team winning on the road.

In the first meeting, Dallas topped New York, 24-17 in East Rutherford, outgaining their rival 433 yards to 269 and holding onto the ball over seven minutes longer than Eli Manning and company, allowing quarterback Tony Romo to complete 22-of-29 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair to Kevin Ogletree.

Miles Austin also had a TD reception for the Cowboys, who became the first team to defeat the 2012 defending Super Bowl champion in its season opener since 1999. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Meanwhile, Giants signal caller Manning connected on just 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 213 yards and one score.

Nevertheless, the Giants bounced back just seven weeks later, marching into Dallas and edging out the Cowboys 29-24, on five field goals from Lawrence Tynes and six forced turnovers by a tenacious defense.

The Giants defense picked off Romo four times and held the Cowboys rushing attack to 19 yards on 17 carries.

The win pushed the Giants to four straight against the Cowboys in Dallas.

Now the G-Men will look to repeat that feat by beating Dallas in its first season-opening game at home since 2007, — a game they beat the Giants 45-35.

This one’s easy.

Plain and simple, Dallas is not any better at home and has never beaten the Giants in Arlington. Until they do, I can’t pick them.

Besides, the Giants have been one of the best road dog teams in the league over the last couple of seasons, producing a 7-3 straight up and against the spread record in their last 10 games.

Also, the total here of 49 is perfect if you want to lean on betting on the Giants as they are 8-4 in its last 12 games under that totla, while Dallas has lost its last five games when the score has gone over 48.
