Earlier this season in Tampa Bay the Saint beat the Bucs 35-28.

Josh Freeman passed for 320 yards in the earlier loss to the Saints and while he passed for 2 TD’s in the loss to the Eagles he only completed 14 of 34 passes for 189 yards. WR’s Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams are each averaging over 16 yards per catch and the struggling New Orleans secondary cannot let these guys make the big play.

A big key in this game will be for the Bucs to run the ball to keep Drew Brees and the dynamic Saints’ pass offense on the sidelines.[soliloquy id=”82219″]

Even in the loss last week Tampa Bay rookie RB Doug Martin rushed for nearly 130 yards last week in the loss to Philly and he will get a lot of touches in this game and if he can run the ball well the Bucs have a chance, but if not Freeman may have to light up the scoreboard for Tampa to win.

Drew Brees leads the great New Orleans passing offense and he has not lack of targets. However, he has not looked good with 1 TD and 7 INT in his last 2 games. However, there is a good chance he will get back on track facing a Bucs’ pass defense that ranks dead last in the NFL.

While the Bucs’ pass defense ranks last their run defense ranks 1st. The Saints have a slew of RB’s, but they have not played well in the last few games.

The Saints need a better showing from their special teams’ defense, as last week in the loss to the Giants they gave up nearly 290 yards on 6 kickoff returns.

In some betting trends for this NFC South match up the Bucs are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games and they have an Over record of 4-0 in their last 4 road games.

The Saints are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record, 12-3 ATS in their last 15 home games, and they have an Over record of 7-2 in their last 9 home games.

Jason’s Pick: The Saints have a terrible defense and issues with the running game, but with Brees facing the Tampa Bay pass defense he will torch them and New Orleans will win and cover.
