His teams have endured some peaks and valleys over the years, but have won 10 or more games four times including a 12-4 record and Super Bowl title in 2008.

This past offseason has been anything but smooth, but one thing you cannot do is count the Giants out, no matter what is going on, as Coughlin has the unique ability to get his team ready to play football once the regular season gets underway.

Giants Super Bowl Lines & Predictions

Eli Manning is coming off a season that was filled with some peaks and valleys as well. The seven-year veteran out of Mississippi threw for 4,002 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2010, but he also turned the ball over 30 times with a career-high 25 interceptions and five lost fumbles.

He comes into this season with two key pieces of the passing game missing with the loss of wide receiver Steve Smith and tight end Kevin Boss, who are both gone via free agency.

Fortunately, Manning still has his two favorite targets, Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham, as well as a running game that is led by the two-headed attack of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs.

The drama surrounding defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora’s demand for a new contract has seemed to die down, but the defense is still reeling from the loss of first-round draft pick Prince Amukamara, who was expected to make an immediate impact in the secondary. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

He broke his foot in his first practice with team and could miss the first month of the regular season while recovering.

New York also selected defensive lineman Marvin Austin in the second round and linebacker’s Greg Jones and Jacquian Williams in the later rounds to add some youth and depth to a unit that slipped to 17th in points allowed last season.

The reviews for this team have been mixed so far this preseason as it continues to try and iron out some issues before the start of the season.

However, as mentioned earlier, it is safe to assume that Coughlin will have this bunch ready to go when they take on Washington in their home opener.
