Superbowl 46 Betting Online – 2011 Packers Season Preview

It is easy to understand why Green Bay is one of the favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions, given that it made its magical run to the title game last season with a large chunk of its roster on the Injured Reserve list.

Odds to win the NFC North -220
Odds to win the NFC 15/4
Odds to win the Super Bowl 7/1
Win Total 11.5

Everyone is back and ready to roll as the Packers will attempt to become the first team since the 2003-2004 Patriots to win back-to-back titles.

Aaron Rodgers has really come into his own since taking over for Brett Favre a few years back. He is coming off his best season as a pro with 312 completions on 475 attempts for 3,922 passing yards and 28 touchdowns.

His numbers in the postseason where even more impressive with 1,094 yards passing and a 68.2 completion percentage in the four-game run.

He will once again be surrounded by a wealth of talent with WR’s Greg Jennings and Donald Driver along with TE Jeremichael Finley as his primary targets in the passing game. RB’s Ryan Grant and James Starks will be charged with running the ball out of the backfield.

Green Bay finished last season ranked fifth in total defense and should remain near the top of the league again this season with the majority of its roster intact. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

It did lose DL Cullen Jenkins to Philadelphia via free agency, but is counting on Mike Neal, B.J. Raji, and Ryan Pickett to step-up and fill the void.

The Packers will be tested right out of the gate this season with New Orleans, Chicago, and Atlanta on the schedule in the first five weeks.

They also have road games against San Diego and Kansas City from the AFC West later in the year as well as a home game against Tampa Bay and a road game against the Giants mixed in as well.

There is little doubt about the overall talent on this team as well as its ability to overcome adversity, so the only real road block to another deep run in the postseason would be the dreaded Super Bowl hangover that has plagued so many other teams in the past.

Green Bay may not coast its way to the NFC Championship, but it is a good bet it will make it at least that far again this season.
