SNF – Giants vs Cowboys Week 14 Gambling Preview

While the Giants will take a lot of positives from that loss to Green Bay, they also have to deal with their overall outlook for the remainder of the season, and the reality that they have now lost four straight. New York will likely have their season on the line when they travel to face the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, in what has to be labeled a “must-win” game.

While the Giants came that close to closing the gap in the NFC East, the Cowboys have to be even more bitter about blowing a golden opportunity to create some separation at the top. Dallas hit a game-winning field goal with no time left in regulation last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals, only for that score to be called back after head coach Jason Garrett had called a timeout. Dan Bailey missed on his second kick from the same distance, and the Cowboys eventually lost the game in overtime. Dallas did a lot of things right in that game and in their four straight wins leading up to it, but with a tough finish to their schedule that includes two games against the Giants, what matters now is how they finish. One of the biggest reasons for the Cowboys’ success of late has been there ability to move the ball on the ground with the emergence of running back DeMarco Murray, who has averaged 5.5 yards per carry since he exploded on to the scene earlier this year. Dallas will need Murray to move the ball and help keep the Giants’ pass rush from getting to Tony Romo, and his ability to get the job done will be one of their biggest keys to success.

Eli Manning and the Giants’ passing attack torched the Packers several times on the deep ball, and will now take on the Cowboys’ 14th-ranked pass defense. New York has worked hard to get to this point in their season and has to be confident despite their recent results, and it is now time to parlay that momentum in to wins.
