Green Bay has been on a bit of a roll and has climbed back into the conversation as one of the best teams in the NFL while the Vikings… well – they continue to hit new lows.

Those of you who stomached Monday night’s debacle will know exactly what I mean.

The Green Bay Packers keep chugging along despite the loss of Randall Cobb, James Jones and now Jermichael Finley. We know the offense will keep up their end of the bargain and now it seems as though the defense has finally reached a level that could take the team deep into the playoffs.

Green Bay has held their last three opponents under 20 points for the game, and so far through six games this season – the Packers are 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards allowed. Important stats when you consider that the Vikings are a one trick pony – Adrian Peterson is about the only chance the Vikings have to keep this game close.

Aaron Rodgers should be able to exploit Minnesota’s weak secondary with Jordy Nelson and Jarrett Boykin and Eddie Lacy should be able to shred what has been a disappointing Minnesota defense so far. The Vikings rank dead last in the NFL in yards allowed and 30th in points allowed. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

This unit made the Giants look elite on Monday night and now they have the task of slowing a Packers offense that has been clicking on all cylinders during their recent win streak.

As bad as the Minnesota defense has been, the offense looks awful. Josh Freeman threw 30 incompletions Monday night and Adrian Peterson was held under 30 yards rushing for the second straight week.

The Minnesota offense looks completely out of sync with no real reason for optimism going forward.

The Vikes were shut out on offense against the Giants leaky defense Monday and are now tasked with facing a motivated Green Bay defense that has exceeded expectation for far.

Sunday Night Football Betting Prediction:

A few trends to consider:

• Under is 7-1 in GB last 8 vs. NFC North.
• GB are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games on fieldturf.
• GB are 25-9 ATS in their last 34 vs. NFC North.
• MIN are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games in Week 8.
• Over is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.

Green Bay owns the Vikings. The Packers are 6-1 SU in their last seven games overall against the Vikings, and they are 5-2 ATS during that same stretch. I can’t see much changing on Sunday Night Football. This game has blowout written all over it.

Green Bay is on a march toward the playoffs while the Vikings will likely be in the race for the #1 pick overall in 2014. It’s the men vs. the boys Sunday night.

Pick: Green Bay Packers -10
