How good did the Seattle Seahawks look last week? A 58-0 win with eight turnovers created and the starters played just over one half of that game! Everything is clicking for Pete Carroll and the Hawks – heck this team has shown that they can even win on the road!
Seattle is a test for any team at the moment – a win will cement their position as an NFC Wild Card team and make it so one win in the last two games will qualify them for an improbable playoff spot.

Seattle’s offense has remained a run first squad and rightfully so with Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. The Hawks own the league’s 4th best rushing game averaging 152.31 yards per game. But the passing game under rookie Russell Wilson has also been terrific as of late – much better than their 29th NFL rank. Wilson has created some chemistry with Sidney Rice and Golden Tate and in turn the passing attack has to be accounted for when game planning against the Hawks.
Seattle’s defense has been brilliant and is coming off a shutout performance in which they forced eight turnovers. The Hawks are 2nd in points against surrendering 15.54 points per game; they are 4th against the pass and 10th versus the run.
The Buffalo Bills haven’t been terrible this season but they haven’t been great either. A loss to the average St. Louis Rams last week speaks to the inconsistency of this team. The Bills have some quality pieces but like in so many past years they have failed to put it all together. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Buffalo enters Sunday’s “home game” with the 25th ranked passing attack – chances are that Ryan Fitzpatrick and company will have a difficult time against Seattle’s top 5 pass defense. The Bills however own the 6th best running game. They will rely on CJ Spiller alone this week which may be a good thing – Fred Jackson is out for the year with injury.
Buffalo spent their offseason attempting to upgrade their defense – Mario Williams received a $100 million contract but has yet to live up to the expectations that come along with such a commitment. The Bills are an OK 14th against the pass but are a terrible 28th versus the run – Marshawn Lynch is coming so hopes are that the Bills can overachieve in the run defense department.
