In fact they Hawks are already been named 5-1 favorites to win Super Bowl 50 in 2016! Unreal.

The Hawks are favorites for a reason folks – here are 5 top reasons that they will produce the rare repeat this year.

1. Momentum

After starting the season 3-3 there has been no better team in football.

After their win against Carolina Saturday, the Hawks have now won seven straight games and 10 of their last 11. The defense has taken their game to a different level and the offense has done more than compliment their “D”.

The Seahawks (13-4) never trailed Saturday and became the first defending Super Bowl champion to win a playoff game the following season since New England in January 2006 – the last repeat Champion.

2. Defense

The old adage says the Defense wins Championships and there is not better defense on the planet right now than the Seahawks. Prior to the Carolina game Seattle had allowed just three touchdowns and 39 points and an average of 202 yards against per contest in six games – unbelievable.

They were able to force three turnovers against a Hot Carolina team – one being a pick-six! Seattle is plain scary on defense – the advantage swings to the Hawks every time this unit is on the field.

3. Balanced Offense

The Seahawks have proven time and again that if you take something away from them offensively they can beat you another way. Case in point – against Carolina Marshawn Lynch was largely shut down.

Enter Russell Wilson who finished Saturday with a passer rating of 149.2 (268 yards and 3 TDs), the second-highest for any game in his career. He was 8-of-8 for 199 yards passing on third downs and he hit three different receivers for three TDs.

It’s pick you poison when facing the Seattle offense and both poisons are pretty dangerous right now.

4. The 12th Man

The Seahawks will get one more game at home before the Super Bowl in Arizona – and you can bet that they will have their share of supporters if they make it to the Title Game. The team is now 8-1 on home turf and 25-2 in Seattle during the Russell Wilson era – as dominant a home team as there has ever been in football.

The Seattle crowd is a true difference-maker and as we get closer to the Title game, their noise level is only ramping up! Just ask Aaron Rodgers and Seattle’s opposition this upcoming week!

5. Experience

Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and company are still a young team but they have faced the pressures of playoff football before… and they have succeeded. Coach Pete Carroll has a way of instilling an incredible calm for this team – nothing seems to faze them.

Pressure is a huge factor during the playoffs – the Hawks have passed those tests with flying colors in the recent past!
