49ers vs. Cowboys & Saints vs. Raiders Odds

Let’s take a quick look at two preseason picks and NFLX Predictions for the Bay Area NFL teams on Saturday. 2009 NFL preseason and week three top games…

NFL Betting – Bay Area Teams In Tough In Week Three Teams

The NFL odds are up this weekend for all of the Week 3 preseason games and while it should be the most exciting game of the preseason, since the starters will play more in this game than any other one, it’s still an exhibition game. Let’s take a look at the two Bay Area teams and handicap their chances for the weekend.

San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys Stadium @ 8pm

Odds: Cowboys -7

The sportsbook has an uncharacteristically high line for the 49ers-Cowboys game as most preseason lines have been around a field goal.

The reason why the line is so big is because of how good the Cowboys looked in their last preseason game in comparison to some of the issues the 49ers are enduring right now.

While the 49ers offense pumped out a ton of rushing yards against the Oakland Raiders, their quarterbacking has been fairly questionable so far. The battle between Alex Smith and Shaun Hill hasn’t really produced a winner but Hill has won the job almost by default. The goal was for Smith to push him but both players have looked marginal at best.

Hill is also dealing with some back problems that recently surfaced and it’s unclear how long he’ll play in the game.

On the flip side, the Cowboys should have a good offensive outing, especially given how much depth they have on offense. Tony Romo and company should have a good game against a mediocre 49ers defense while the Cowboys slew of running backs should pave the way to the win and cover.

New Orleans Saints @ Oakland Raiders

Oakland Coliseum 4pm – NFL Network

Odds: Saints -2.5

The Oakland Raiders are pathetic right now. They are a disaster off the field and they are a wreck on the field. The 49ers racked up a ton of rushing yards against the Raiders weak defense and the New Orleans Saints should be able to as well.
The Saints are typically more of a passing unit but they will get Reggie Bush back for this game and he’s expecting to see a big workload. Not many sports picks will side with the Raiders in this game because they don’t have the offensive weapons to keep up in a high-scoring affair.

My plays are the Cowboys and the Saints. The Boys shoud woop up a shaky 49er defense and the Raiders are just plain pathetic.

Cowboys 49ers is tough without RWilliams this week but I think the Cowboys 2nd string is better than the 49ers 2nd stringers. Cowboys in a close one.
Saints. Brees will demolish the Raiders D and Mike Bell will make his preseason bid for more playing time without Pierre Thomas taking carries.

Oakland has already started to show their true colors as they were waxed by the Saints on Saturday night by a score of 45-7. San Francisco beat Dallas 20- 13. They are going to be better than most people think, as Singletary will have them ready to play every week.
