The Seattle Seahawks look to be getting clear of injuries, unfortunately for them it’s week 13 of the NFL season and though they aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, they are in a deep hole. Seattle got back in the win column last week by beating the Rams. This week the Seahawks return home after three straight road games. At the start of the season I though Seattle would be on of the surprise teams this year and had an outside shot at winning the West. Matt Hasselback went down for a few games early in the season and linebacker Lofa Tatupu went out for the season and Seattle had to rethink their schemes. Overall, it’s rebuilding time in Seattle and the Seahawks realize they have some holes to fill. I believe players will be playing hard because their jobs will be on the line and many will be auditioning for work elsewhere.
San Francisco isn’t out of it yet but they need to string together some wins and do it now. As most teams in the league are, the Niners have some serious bumps and bruises and have had to make adjustments to their roster. Though I mention this just about every week, the 49ers had two last second losses to two of the best teams in football, the Vikings and the Colts, or else they would be in a very different position right now. Even so, San Francisco is a small winning streak from being right in the middle of the playoff hunt. The San Francisco defense is what carries this team.
While the offense is effective when they can run the ball, the 49ers have big issues at QB.
Seattle is 4-0 against the spread when playing a team with a winning record but they are just 2-10 against the spread following a straight up win. San Francisco is 3-0-2 against the spread in their last five road games and 7-2-3 against the spreadi n their last 12 games overall.
While neither of these teams are world beaters, they aren’t the bottom feeders of the NFL either. The offenses rate out similar but San Francisco allows about three points less defensively each time out. Since they are only giving one here, I like them to cover in this spot.

The 49ers are still in the playoff chase and a loss today to the Seahawks will pretty much end their chances. San Francisco is not the best road team and getting a win in Seattle will not be easy.
