Cleveland Browns vs. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Gambling Prediction & Week 8 Preview

Cleveland vs Kansas City NFL Football Spread/Handicapping

The Kansas City Chiefs are now the last undefeated team in the league. They are a wonderful surprise and on the radio I heard that 48% of all teams that start 7-0 make it to the Super Bowl – Do you really think this team is going to the Super Bowl?.

I am not completely convinced but their chances of pushing that record to 8-0 are fantastic with the Cleveland Browns coming to town. After showing a glint a few weeks back the Browns seem to have found their usual level again and it sounds like they will be starting journeyman QB Jason Campbell this week.

That doesn’t sound like an upset formula to me.

Cleveland

Do you think Cleveland fans are going to look back 50 years from now and talk fondly about the Brian Hoyer era?(wondering what could have been) Only the most optimistic time in recent history.

After winning three in a row the Browns have lost their last two to Detroit and on the road Green Bay.

Now they have another tough road game and it looks like they are turning to Campbell this week to try to turn around an offense that has scored only 30 points the last two weeks combined.

The greater problem may be that they have given up 31 points, each week, as the defense that was showing so much promise has had its cracks revealed by a couple of top pass offenses. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

That is not the kind of team that Kansas City is but the way they get after the passer we may be seeing Brandon Weeden in the game whether the Browns want us to or not.

Kansas City

Kansas City has amassed a perfect record the old-fashioned way. They have the top defense in the league and are kind of reminding me of the early Ravens teams that had success with QB Alex Smith in the role of Trent Dilfer.

Speaking of that defense they have been terrorizing quarterbacks to the point that they have 10 more sacks than the next closest team(after only 7 games).

In a pass first league they have found a way to get off the field and give Smith a chance to score the points they need to win.

Mostly that has meant getting RB Jamaal Charles involved as he has almost 900 yards of total offense already this season. Smith’s numbers aren’t pretty but with just 4 interceptions on the season he hasn’t been putting the Chiefs in too many bad situations.

Statistically he was much better his last couple of years in San Francisco but I don’t see the Chiefs complaining too much.

Spread Pick: Kansas City -9.5
O/U Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Kansas City 24 – Cleveland 6
