Chicago vs Washington NFL Football Spread/Handicapping
This is kind of an interesting matchup. I am not a big fan of Chicago but with a 4-2 record they are tied for first place in the NFC North at the moment. They seem to be the same old Bears and be wary of their poor ATS record of 1-4-1, they are the only team with a losing ATS mark that actually is on the positive side of things straight up which tells you something.

They have a great chance to take advantage of the still struggling Washington Redskins on Sunday. There is something up with this team this season and it is more than just the health of Robert Griffin’s knee.
Chicago
Whenever I write about the Bears I feel like I have to declare that there is just something about them that bugs me. Probably the fact that I find it so weird how disinterested QB Jay Cutler seems when he is not on the field.
I don’t know how you can win big with a guy like that. Either way the results on the field speak for themselves.
This is a better than average team that seems about where it was a year ago despite some changes. They are scoring lots of points but part of that is thanks to the defense, which is kind of funny because the “D” likes to give up a fair share as well – almost 27ppg.
As stated earlier the Bears have been awful against the spread this season. This one is a little bit easier though because you are essentially picking the game winner. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
As much as I don’t like Chicago I am not sure I can make a case for the home team.
Washington
I was shocked when I looked at the numbers and saw that Washington is fourth in yards gained so far this season. Shocked because all those yards are only yielding 21ppg, 20th in the league. That is a huge gap one not easily explained by penalties or turnovers, where they are about the middle of the pack.
Something is going on though and it is more than just the fact that RGIII is turning out to be a mere mortal.
A big part of the problem for Washington has been getting down early which has been preventing them from doing what they do best, run the football. Alfred Morris is averaging better than 5 yards per carry but he is not even averaging 20 attempts per game.
For the Redskins to get back to winning and maybe even get back into the race they have to start playing better in the first half so they can execute their game plan which is to run the ball a lot and play solid defense. The Bears are not all that explosive so maybe they can make that happen this week.
The defense has been killing this team.
