But I don’t think any of those pundits could imagine that they would trade for RB Trent Richardson and then roll into San Francisco and just dominate the 49ers. a consensus top team. I am not saying that they are instantly favourites in the AFC but we definitely need to consider this team.

Jacksonville on the other hand is exactly what we all thought they would be – terrible. Last week they were 19.5 point dogs at Seattle and we should probably get used to seeing numbers like that considering they weren’t even close to covering.

Indianapolis

When you pick up RB Ahmad Bradshaw in the offseason you know you are pretty light at running back. Still it was a fantastic surprise that they were able to swing a deal for Richardson who had yet to find his groove with Cleveland after being the third overalll pick last season.

With a productive running game the Colts offense could be pretty scary as they have Mr. Reliable Reggie Wayne and a electric T.Y. Hilton at receiver, a set of promising tight ends and now what could be a productive and dynamic ground game. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

With QB Andrew Luck pulling all these pieces together they now have an offense that should put and keep them in any game…and when they get a defensive effort like they did in San Francisco look out.

This team can be scary and is probably going to get better as the season progresses.

Jacksonville

While the expectations that Indy would fall back to the pack this season may not come to fruition it certainly seems that what we knew about the Jags was right on…these guys are awful.

The Jaguars defense is not very good but their offense is epically bad. They are averaging less than 10 points per game this season and come into this game with WR Justin Blackmon still out due to suspension and “playmakers” Maurice Jones-Drew and Mercedes Lewis dinged up.

I don’t mean to be harsh but the Jags are kind of an embarrassment right now and it is hard to find a game they might win a game on their schedule. They have also been no friend to bettors with an 0-3 ATS record to match their straight up futility. It looks like things are going to get worse before they get better.
