Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills Gambling Prediction & Week 4 Preview

Baltimore vs Buffalo NFL Football Spread/Handicapping

With back to back wins it seems that the sky stopped falling for the Super Bowl champs even if Peyton Manning passes never did. The Ravens win over the Texans last week might have been impressive last week in terms of the final score but really neither team played all that well.

The same could be said of the Bills loss to the Jets last week which was a penalty filled dog of a game for the ages. The Bills are falling out of their division race and really need this one.

It is a lot to put on a rookie QB to have a must win so early in the year.

Baltimore

The Ravens won by 21 last week but they needed a punt and interception returns for touchdowns to get there. In fact they were actually outgained in the contest against Houston which makes that score even more surprising. Their record may be solid but this is still a team finding there way so be wary.

Offensively this team has not picked up where it left off last season. QB Joe Flacco has been only average and with the cast of skill players around him he need to be better than that.

Speaking of that cast RB Ray Rice is probable for this one but receiver Marlon Brown who shows great potential is questionable and Jacoby Jones is still out. When Flacco has his complete complement of weapons it may be a different story but for right now it is a struggle. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

On defense things have looked pretty good. If you throw out what happened in the opener against Denver they have given up an average of just 7.5 points per game, so there is promise there.

Buffalo

The Jets did everything they could to lose to Buffalo last Sunday but the Bills just wouldn’t let them. The result is a 1-2 record with a couple of close losses that either offer a glimmer of hope or not depending on how optimistic you are.

I like what I have seen from rookie QB E.J. Manuel so far. He is definitely nimble back there and can run and I think he could have even more success if he trusts his arm a little more and takes some calculated risks.

The running game has been solid (5th in the league) but the defense needs to step up if this team is going to start closing out games and winning. They are in the bottom third of yards allowed and that is after playing Carolina and the Jets, two teams are hardly going to be offensive juggernauts this season.

I am hopeful that the Bills can have a solid season and backing them at home is never a bad idea.
