Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Gambling Prediction & Week 16 Preview

Tennessee vs Jacksonville NFL Football Spread/Handicapping

The AFC South is all weirded up this year. Houston was supposed to be good enough to compete for A Super Bowl but they stink; Jacksonville was supposed to be worst team in NFL history but they are just medium bad; and Indianapolis was supposed to falter but they are in first place.

The only team who is about where most expected is Tennessee, but if they lose to Jacksonville, again, even that might not be true. Stay tuned to see how it all turns out on Sunday.

Tennessee

The Tennessee Titans are limping down the stretch having lost 5 of their last 6 games. Given they have Jacksonville followed by Houston to close the schedule you would think they might be able to finish strong but they have already lost to both of those teams once this season.

Tennessee seems to be the definition of mediocre, which might even be a little bit generous. They have nothing to rely on offensively and their defense is not near strong enough to win games on its own. Worst of all they probably think they are better than they really are.

In their mind QB Jake Locker is going to be Russell Wilson and RB Chris Johnson will get back to Pro Bowl form. I don’t see either of those things happening and with both of them not likely to play in this game (Locker has been out for a while) I am surprised they are installed as medium favourites.

This game is hard to call but I don’t think you can make a rational argument for the Titans.

If you just can’t stomach Jacksonville either then look elsewhere

Jacksonville

Meanwhile the Jaguars are not a good team but unlike the Titans they have no illusions that they will be anytime soon. These guys are about three drafts away from being really competitive but it is clear that coach Gus Bradley is able to get his guys to compete.

As he gets better raw material to work with there is every reason to think he is going to turn things around in North Florida.

This week though, the Jags are a MASH unit missing key playmakers in top rusher RB Maurice Jones-Drew and top receiver WR Cecil Shorts.

This team just really struggles to score but they have been pushing up their average most weeks over the second half of the season.

On defense they are not much better but they seem to be able to hold a lead when they get one, so I guess that is something. This is their last home game of the season so maybe they are inspired.

Spread Pick: Jacksonville +5
O/U Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Jacksonville 21 – Tennessee 20
