They are currently tied with Baltimore for the final playoff spot in the conference though and thus can’t afford a letdown.
They might be catching New England in a good spot as they deal with the news that Rob Gronkowski’s season is over and the after effects on the team both on the field and emotionally.

The Patriots may be on a roll with three straight victories but they haven’t come easy, winning by a combined 7 points.

Last week they came back to narrowly beat the Cleveland Browns but they might have been better served to take the loss if it meant they could still rely on the services of TE Rob Gronkowski, the one skill player who truly creates matchup problems for opponents and is the catalyst for the Patriots offense.
Sure New England was able to win early in the season without him but in the playoffs the margin for error will be pretty thin.
This week they can guarantee the division title with a victory so they should be focused on the task at hand, after all this is New England.
They beat Miami in October by 10 in a game that Gronkowski was not much of a factor which should add to their confidence in game planning this week.

The thing is they probably should have lost that game were it not for turnovers by the Dolphins.
Miami
With their backs against the wall the Dolphins have won the last two weeks on the road. Beating the New York Jets was kind of easy but they had to come from behind to top Pittsburgh last week. This week they are back home and need to keep winning if they want to make the playoffs.
Unfortunately the Dolphins have not been great at home (just 3-3) and it won’t be easy to beat the Pats, a team they have lost their last games against, going back to 2009.
In their loss to New England earlier this season they actually outgained the Patriots but a couple of Ryan Tannehill interceptions undid the team.
He has not been playing amazing lately but he has not had a game with more than one interception since and last week he was an important part of their comeback against the Steelers.
If he can play relatively mistake free football the running game and defense just might be enough to get the Dolphins the victory they need on Sunday.
