These two teams met in week 1 with Philly winning. A lot has changed since then.

Washington

The Redskins have split their last 6 games after getting off to an 0-3 start. Over that time the cries of what is wrong with RGIII have died down a bit but nothing can hide the fact that the defense has not been good this season.

There are some bad teams in the NFL but only one other is giving up more points than the Redskins who are allowing more than 31ppg. That kind of ineffectiveness puts a lot of pressure on the offense which has steadily crept into the top 10 in all categories despite criticisms.

For this team to win an important game on the road they need a more complete game, however, assuming that there defense remains leaky they are going to need Griffin to be a little bit magical in what should be a high scoring contest as the Eagles are far from strong on defense either.

Its a NFC East division game in the second half of the year and it should be a good show.

Philadelphia

Philly has won their last two games to draw even with the Dallas Cowboys atop the NFC East. Both of those games were on the road but now they are at home for three straight so they are well positioned to make a move.

When they met the Skins in week 1 it was the rushing of RB Shady McCoy that was huge with 184 yards on the ground. Since then he has had some great games but also some very mediocre ones, and never two great games in a row. That does not bode well for the Eagles as he thrashed the Packers last week.

One significant development for the Eagles since week 1 is the rise of Nick Foles as the QB. Though he might have gotten his opportunity due to injury it seems like he is the best fit for the offense and he has been playing at a high level. He has yet to throw an interception and completes at a high percentage. He is certainly not the runner Michael Vick is but you can’t argue with the recent results.

Spread Pick: Philadelphia -4
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: Philadelphia 31 – Washington 24
