Arizona vs Jacksonville NFL Football Spread/Handicapping
If the Arizona Cardinals were in almost any other division they would probably still be in the playoff race. However, being 5-4 in the NFC West put them in third place, hoping that the San Francisco 49ers slide a just a little further back.

This is a pretty good team and this week is an opportunity to steal a win just like others have done against Jacksonville, save Tennessee I suppose.

I doubt I will be watching this one but I am interested in the result.
Arizona
It is hard to tell just how good the Cardinals are. They brought in veteran Carson Palmer to play the pivot this season because that is what has held them back and they were looking for a steadying force.
Palmer still has his moments that make you cringe but for the most part he has done just that. He doesn’t have great numbers (at all) but he is resilient.

Really this team is winning because it has a top 10 defense. They are stingy against the run – 3rd in the league – and even though their pass defense is not as highly ranked they have some amazing playmakers in the third level in forme LSU Tigers Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu, who both have a knack for making the big play in big moments.
Even though it seems that Arizona is an obvious choice to win Sunday those points make me a little nervous on the road for a team that is not really an offensive force.
Jacksonville
The Jags finally got into the win column last week on the road against Tennessee.
This is not a good team expected to go on a run but the rest of their schedule includes only a couple of teams with winning records. Arizona is one of them so a winning streak is unlikely.
Even though the Jags are no longer a threat to join an “elite” club don’t get caught thinking this team is improving.
Last week against the Titans the Jags were outgained by the Titans by 150 yards and were it not for a penalty in the end zone that resulted in a safety and a fumble recovery for a touchdown they would still be searching for win numero uno.
Last week was only the second time the Jags have covered a number all season long so don’t get caught up in their recent performance.
A win may have actually been the woest thing to happen to that team. Now they have some confidence, they really shouldn’t.
