Let’s keep it going with four more games for the start of the 2010 season.

Cincinnati Bengals @ New England Patriots

Sunday, September 12, 1:00 p.m. ET
NFL gambling favorite: Patriots -6

Sooner or later, bettors have to accept that the Patriots dynasty is finished. They haven’t been a powerhouse franchise for a couple of seasons. Now, I’m wondering if we have to go a bit further and realize that the Patriots may not even be a playoff team this year.

Tom Brady is two years removed from his ACL injury, yes, but he’s creeping into his mid-30s. So is Randy Moss. And Wes Welker may not be ready to play in Week 1. The Pats’ stable of running backs features oldies like Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris. Their younger option, Laurence Maroney, lacks toughness and fumbles too much.

The Pats’ solid but unspectacular defense is more about keeping them in games than winning games. If the offense regresses, what will happen? The Bengals provide a tough matchup in Week 1. Terrell Owens adds a new element to the passing game, Cedric Benson is the real deal and the Bengals’ quietly had the NFL’s No. 4 defense last year. They get no respect. They may not win on the road but they can beat the six-point spread.

Pick: Bengals +6

Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans

Sunday, September 12, 1:00 p.m. ET
NFL gambling favorite: Titans -7

The Raiders would have a better chance at Tennessee if the matchup came later in the year. First-round pick Rolando McClain looks like he’ll start right away and become the defensive leader at middle linebacker. In theory, he’ll help the Raiders’ run defense, which was 30th in the NFL last year.

But I doubt McClain can make an impact in his first NFL game when he has to face Chris Johnson and Vince Young. The Titans should run wild. This could actually be a shootout, as Jason Campbell could surprise through the air against Tennessee’s ugly pass defense, but I like the Titans to cover.

Pick: Titans -7

Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday, September 12, 4:15 p.m. ET
NFL gambling favorite: Packers -1

This is one of the tougher NFL points spreads around in Week 1. On one hand, we have the Eagles playing at home before a raucous crowd and deploying an aggressive pass rush against a team that struggled to protect its quarterback last year.

On the other, we have a newbie quarterback getting the reins for Philly in Kevin Kolb. He showed last year that he has the potential to be a great starter for the Eagles but he could have some growing pains in the Eagles’ opener. He has a penchant for turnovers and the Packer defense, while not perfect, is loaded with playmakers.

Even on the road, I think superstar Aaron Rodgers will find a way to put points on the board and lead Green Bay to victory.

Pick: Packers -1

Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams

Sunday, September 12, 4:15 p.m. ET
NFL gambling favorite: Cardinals -3.5

Every year, some team wins our hearts with a shocking Week 1 victory. Could it be the Rams, debuting Sam Bradford at home against a depleted Cardinal team? Probably not. I think Detroit will steal the show in Week 1, to be honest.

Bradford will take his lumps and, even if the Rams find a way to gash the Cardinals, their defense doesn’t look to be better. It’s not even Matt Leinart or Larry Fitzgerald that will hurt them the most; it’s Chris “Beanie” Wells. The Rams had the NFC’s second-worst run defense last year and Wells is poised to break out. I think he’ll put a big hurt on St. Louis. Not everyone will pick Arizona in NFL Week 1 point spreads but I like this one.

Pick: Cardinals -3.5
