Sunday Night Football Betting – Dolphins Attempt To Remain Undefeated In AFC East Clash

The New York Jets will take their talents to South Beach this weekend for a division clash against the Miami Dolphins, who currently lead the AFC East by one game over the Jets and New England Patriots with a perfect two wins. New York has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season, including the sexual harassment of a female reporter, and earlier this week a DUI charge for wide receiver Braylon Edwards.

Escaping the spotlight of the Big Apple will do little to take away the pressure that is on this team to succeed this year, a challenge that continues this Sunday when they battle the division’s only undefeated team.

The Dolphins have been one of the biggest surprises in the AFC early this year, knocking off the Buffalo Bills on the road week one, before parlaying the victory on a trip to Minnesota by keeping the mighty Vikings winless last weekend. Miami was handed the hardest schedule in the league based on opponents’  win percentage from a year ago, but early indications are that it won’t be a problem.

How Can New York Win?

New York head coach Rex Ryan had told the media that he will bench Edwards for the start of the game, but that he hasn’t made a decision on when or if he will play. The type of coach that will do anything that it takes to win, Ryan will undoubtedly call on Edwards if New York falls behind early.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez actually outplayed Patriots’ signal caller Tom Brady in the Jets’ first win of the season last weekend, and will need to remain cool to snap the Dolphins’ winning ways.

The New York defense should continue to dominate when they get after Miami quarterback Chad Henne.

How Can Miami Win?

The Dolphins have finally found the answer to being less one-dimensional on offense this season, with trade-acquisition wide receiver Brandon Marshall becoming quarterback Chad Henne’s go-to playmaker, and helping to open things up for the passing game. Marshall will need to have an even bigger game against “Revis Island” and the Jets’ vaunted defense, while the running game will need to pound the rock repeatedly to soften the New York defense.

The Dolphins will get after Sanchez early and often, trying to pressure the sophomore in to making mistakes.

Outlook

While the Dolphins have looked solid in each of the first two weeks of the season, the Bills are horrible and the Vikings can’t seem to do anything right in the early going.

New York is an execution-oriented team on both sides of the ball, and has the confidence and poise to come in to Sun Life Stadium and crash the Dolphins’ party.
