Redskins vs Dolphins Week 11 Gambling Preview

When an established NFL contender loses consecutive games, there is a sense that a specific aspect of their game has gone wrong and that once that problem is corrected the team will carry on as a true Super Bowl threat.

However, when a team with a poor track record that starts fast loses consecutive games and three of their last four, it doesn’t take long for the critics and doubters to make it known that team never really had a chance. This is the case in the AFC East as the Buffalo Bills make the trip south to face the Miami Dolphins this weekend.

While the New England Patriots are back in contention as the favorite to win the division, the Bills are a 2.5-point underdog to the Miami Dolphins as they fly south to Sun Life Stadium.

For as bad as the Dolphins have looked this season, consecutive wins has them being hyped as a team turning it around, while the Bills are struggling to get back on track. Miami had allowed at least 17 points in losing each of their first seven games, but has held opponents to a combined 12 points in back-to-back wins.

Meanwhile, after scoring at least 20 points in every game while compiling a 6-2 record to the midway mark of the regular season schedule, Buffalo has combined to score just 18 in two straight losses. Something will have to give as the Bills make their way to Miami, and it’s likely to be the Dolphins’ defense. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Even with their recent improvement against teams struggling with injuries and inconsistency, the Miami pass defense still ranks 25th in the NFL, representing the perfect opponent for Bills’ quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to bounce back against. Fitzpatrick has thrown just two touchdowns compared to five interceptions in his past two starts, and has recorded his lowest average per completion in each of Buffalo’s last two losses, recording a 6.16 and 4.71.

The Bills put up some big numbers earlier in the year when Fitzpatrick was on his game, while the Dolphins were being torched, and as long as they can get some consistent play from the quarterback position and running back Fred Jackson can provide another strong effort, Buffalo should be able to bounce back and end Miami’s run.
