Washington vs. Miami Week 10 NFL Lines & Spread Prediction

Redskins vs Dolphins Week 10 Gambling Preview

If there was ever any doubt about the importance of a quarterback to his team in the NFL, then this weekend’s matchup between the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins is the perfect illustration to reinforce that theory.

With a combined four wins between them, the Redskins and Dolphins will clash this weekend in a battle featuring two quarterbacks that have not been able to establish themselves as No. 1 guys, but rather forced in to those rules via circumstance.

However, while the Dolphins’ season is over at 1-6, Washington still has a chance to turn things around at 3-5, a tall task that begins with a must-win situation this Sunday.

The obvious case for Redskins’ quarterback John Beck ahead of Rex Grossman is that he isn’t prone to the same turnovers that will cost his team games. The problem with that equation however is that Beck hasn’t done nearly enough to help his team win games, with over close to 300 fewer yards and four fewer touchdowns despite similar playing time.

Making matters worse is that Washington hasn’t won a game with Beck as their starter, and are now on the verge of becoming irrelevant this season. Without running back Tim Hightower at full health the running game has also struggled, and the defense has not been able to make up for the offense’s lack of efficiency.

For the Dolphins, last weekend’s 31-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium was a surprise to say the least, as it came in hostile territory against an opponent that had won four straight. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Quarterback Matt Moore, who has replaced the injured Chad Henne, threw for three touchdowns in Miami’s first win, becoming the first quarterback in three years to hit that mark. Wide receiver Brandon Marshall also had a big game with eight catches for 106 yards and a touchdown, while the defense held Kansas City to their lowest point total of the year.

Despite his strong play, Moore has been very inconsistent throughout his career, and that performance may not be duplicated the remainder of the season.

As much as it would be a nice story for the Dolphins to build on that performance and win a second consecutive game, this contest will mean as much to Washington as last weekend’s initial win meant to Miami, and the Redskins should come out firing on all cylinders.

With the exception of last Sunday the Dolphins’ defense has struggled to contain opponents, and that should become the case again this weekend.
