Philip Rivers had another big game against Philadelphia in San Diego’s last game, and is now up to seven touchdown passes on the season.

Rivers connected with the same man for each of his touchdowns, finding Eddie Royal each time. Rivers completed 36 of 47 passes for 419 yards and three scores. Royal had 90 yards in addition to his three scores.

Antonio Gates was the apple of Philip Rivers’s eye once again, hauling in 124 receiving yards, while Malcom Floyd added 102 receiving yards. The team racked up 539 yards of offense against a bad Philadelphia defense. The team came up in the clutch late when Rivers marched the team down the field to set up a game-winning field goal from Nick Novak. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The San Diego defense did not have as much success as the offense, allowing Michael Vick to throw for a career-high 428 yards in the game. DeSean Jackson racked up 193 receiving yards, and LeSean McCoy compiled a career-high 114 yards receiving. In total, the Chargers allowed the Eagles to compile 611 yards of offense.

The Titans were tough-luck losers in Week 2. The rival Texans put together some impressive drives late in the game to gut out an emotional win, extending their winning streak over the Titans to three games.

Jake Locker threw for 148 yards and a pair of scores in the win, while Chris Johnson added 96 yards rushing. The team’s offensive line did not stop the two players they should have been focusing on, as Brian Cushing and J.J. Watt each recorded a pair of sacks.

The defense had trouble with Andre Johnson, which was to be expected, giving up 76 yards in limited time, but DeAndre Hopkins came off the bench and really burned them, grabbing seven balls for 117 yards. Matt Schaub threw for 298 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the game. One of those interceptions went to Alterraun Verner, who returned the ball 23 yards for a score.

Even in what was a bad year for him, Rivers still had success against the Titans last season, completing 24 of 32 passes for 284 yards and three scores. Expect him to find more success on Sunday against a Tennessee team that has played above themselves thus far, and is due for a regression.

The Chargers are 8-0 ATS in the last eight meetings between these teams.

The play: San Diego +3
