The Browns have been a mess of late, while the Bears looked unstoppable in their last game.

The Bears defense continues to look very beatable, but their offense stole the headlines on Monday night in a 45-28 win over the Cowboys.

It was journeyman quarterback Josh McCown who keyed the Chicago offense on Monday night, as he completed 27 of 36 passes for 348 yards and four scores, rushing for 16 yards and an additional score. Despite that stellar effort, all signs point to Jay Cutler returning from injury and getting the start in this one. He’ll have some big time receivers to throw the ball to in Cleveland. Brandon Marshall caught six passes for 100 yards against the Cowboys, while Alshon Jeffery brought in five balls for 84 yards and a spectacular score, and Matt Forte had seven receptions for 73 yards and a score.

On the other side of the ball, the team’s defense looked very beatable once again. The Cowboys threw for only 130 yards on a frigid night in Chicago, but running back DeMarco Murray did what he wanted on the ground, rushing for 146 yards on 18 carries, good for an average of 8.1 yards per carry, including better than 50 yards on the opening possession when the ‘Boys ran the ball down the throat of the Bears.

Willis McGahee is doubtful to play in this game for the Browns which likely means heavy doses of Chris Ogbonnaya will be thrown at Chicago, and they might not have an answer.

The team would have liked that kind of production on the ground in their last game against New England when McGahee, Ogbonnaya, and Fozzy Whittaker combined for just over two yards per carry. They dropped that game in the final minute of the fourth quarter, 27-26.

The Browns’ offense was again bailed out by Josh Gordon, who turned eight touches into 185 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Jordan Cameron also had a big outing, bringing in nine balls for 121 yards and a score.

The Cleveland defense came apart at the seams late against New England, surrendering two touchdowns in the final 1:01 of the game. Tom Brady struggled early but ended up with 418 yards passing and those two big scores late.

Cleveland should be able to churn out yards on the ground in this one, while Jay Cutler will look to re-establish himself as the man in Chicago. Both sides should get their points in this one.

The over is 10-3 in Chicago’s last 13 road games, and 5-1 in Cleveland’s last six games overall.
