Chicago Bears vs. Philadelphia Eagles Week 9 NFL Lines & Spread Prediction

Bears vs Eagles Week 9 NFL Handicapping – MNF – Gambling Preview

Do not look now, but the Philadelphia Eagles are heating up. For all of those critics that bashed the “dream team”, we could very well be witnessing the same thing that NBA fans saw with the Miami Heat team that went to the NBA Finals a year ago.

Venue/Stadium: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Time/Date: Monday November 7, 2011 – 8:35 PM ET
NFL Odds from Bodog
Money Line: Eagles -350
Spread (ATS): Eagles -7.5
Over/Under: 47

Following a slow start, the Eagles are beginning to get it together the same way that the Heat did, and have now won consecutive games against division rivals in order to climb back to within one game of .500. With a manageable schedule that includes one more game against every team from the NFC East, Philadelphia could be on the rise.

Next up for the Eagles is Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears, the second week in a row that they will have the opportunity to shine under the prime time spotlights. It also marks the second of a season-high three straight home games, which opened with a 34-7 blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Philadelphia won’t travel until three weeks from this Sunday and with the Arizona Cardinals to follow the Bears in to town, there is a good chance that when the Eagles face the New York Giants in mid-November the division could be on the line.

But in order to get there Philadelphia must first extend its winning streak against a Bears’ team that has also won consecutive games by double-digit totals, dominating the Minnesota Vikings 39-10 before taking off to London, England where they would take care of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a similar fashion. Chicago’s defense was able to force Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman in to four interceptions, while running back Matt Forte led the offense with 145 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Bears seem to have finally realized that they need to run the ball hard to open things up for Jay Cutler and the passing game while protecting him from taking too many hits, and they will look to use that same formula against Philadelphia this Sunday.

However, the Eagles’ run defense has improved dramatically in the past couple of weeks, a key component to their turnaround this season.

With the No. 1 ranked rushing attack led by running back LeSean McCoy and Michael Vick looking more like the Pro Bowl quarterback that exploded back onto the scene a year ago, Philadelphia has a strong chance of extending their winning streak at home under the Monday Night Football lights.
