The Chicago Bears will be looking for their first 2-0 start since 2006 when they head into Big D to play the Cowboys this Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. (ET).

Each of these teams comes into this game with a much different perspective on the results from Week 1. Chicago has to be extremely thankful for its 19-14 win over Detroit, after a Lions apparent game winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter was nullified because of an inane NFL rule that the ball cannot touch the ground in the end zone until the player in completely down. Dallas has to still be fuming over a holding call that reversed a Roy Williams touchdown on the last play of the game in its 13-7 loss to Washington. The call was correct as Cowboy OL Alex Barron was clearly holding on the play.

Chicago will count on a defense that held Detroit to just 20 yards on the ground to keep the Cowboy’s running game in check. The Bears will also need a solid effort from QB Jay Cutler who was just dreadful on the road last season. Against Detroit he completed 23-of-35 attempts for 372 yards and two TD’s, but will be hard pressed to repeat those kinds of numbers playing in Dallas. Chicago was a six point home favorite against the Lions and the total stayed ‘under’  the 43 point line.

Dallas desperately needs to find a way to put the ball into the end zone. Despite racking up over 380 yards of total offense against the Redskins, they only managed to score one TD. QB Tony Romo put up some big numbers, completing 31-of-47 attempts for 282 yards, but could not get the ball into his receiver’s hands when he needed to the most. The Cowboys were a four point road favorite against Washington and the total stayed way ‘under’ the 40 ½ point line. NFL Betting

The Bears are 4-6 straight up in their last 10 games and just 2-8 against the spread. They are 2-6 SU in their last eight road games. Chicago is just 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games against teams from the NFC East. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of its last 10 games.

The Cowboys are 6-4 both SU and ATS in their last 10 games. They are 4-1 both SU and ATS in their last five games at home. The total has stayed ‘under’ in eight of their previous 10 games.

The last time these two teams met was in 2007 with Dallas coming away with a 34-10 win as a three point road underdog. The Cowboys have won three out of the last four games against the Bears both SU and ATS.

It is only a matter of time before Dallas gets its offense on track with the amount of talent on this team. Romo has been effective at moving the ball, but he has to do a better job at converting his opportunities in the red zone into touchdowns. The Cowboys should be poised for a breakout game at home against a Bears team that has not been very good on the road.

Packers/Eagles Betting Trends:

Chicago is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games
Dallas is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games at home
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Dallas’s last 7 games
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Dallas’s last 5 games at home
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Chicago’s last 5 games when playing Dallas
The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Chicago’s last 9 games
The total has gone UNDER in 12 of Chicago’s last 17 games on the road
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Dallas’s last 5 games when playing Chicago

The Pick: Dallas – 8 ½
