NFC East Game Previews – Arizona Cardinals vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Arizona Cardinals will look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season when they square-off against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

Date/Time: Sunday, Nov.13    1 p.m. (ET)
Venue: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA.
Broadcast: FOX
Cardinals at Eagles lines by BetOnline.com
Point spread: Eagles -14
Over/Under: 46.5

The kick-off in this one is slated for 1 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast regionally on FOX.

Arizona notched its second win of the year last week with a 19-13 overtime win over St. Louis as a 2.5-point home favorite. This raised its record to 2-6 straight-up and 4-4 against the spread. The total stayed ‘under’ the 41-point line against the Rams and it has now gone 4-4 on the year.

The much anticipated reunion between quarterback Kevin Kolb and his old team will most likely have to be put on hold as Kolb is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game with a foot injury. While Kolb is not officially ruled out, look for John Skelton to get the start. Last week in relief of Kolb, he threw for 222 yards and one touchdown but was tagged for two safeties and sacked three times.

Philadelphia has been given every opportunity to remain in the NFC East division race, but a number of fourth-quarter collapses this season have dropped them to 3-5 both SU and ATS and on the outside looking in. The latest meltdown was a 30-24 loss to Chicago this past Monday night as a nine-point home favorite. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of its first eight games. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Eagles’ offense led by Michael Vick continues to rack up the yards, but also continues to shoot itself in the foot with costly penalties and mistakes. The defense has played better in recent weeks but is still struggling to stop the run and getting opposing offenses off the field on third down.

Arizona is 4-11 ATS in its last 15 games on the road and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of its last seven road games.

Philadelphia is 1-6 ATS in its last seven home games and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of its last seven games at home.

Head-to-head, the Cardinals are 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six trips to Philadelphia. The total has gone ‘over’ in the last four games between the two. Most sportsbooks currently have this game ‘off’ due to the uncertainty surrounding Kolb, but even if he plays the Eagles remain the best bet unless the spread goes higher than 14 points.

The Pick: Philadelphia 34 vs. Arizona 13
