NFL Picks: Buccaneers vs. Panthers Gambling Lines & Preview

Week 15 Odds: Green Bay vs Buffalo

The lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-11) and Carolina Panthers (4-8-1) meet in an NFC South match-up that doesn’t matter at all. As always, visit Cappers Picks for free NFL picks throughout the season.

This match-up may mean nothing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make some money by betting it.

I’m a little surprised that the point spread is so low for the Panthers, as the Bucs have been terrible.

Tampa Bay has actually been better on the road, as both of their wins have been away from TB.

Carolina is just 2-4-1 at home, but they’ve lost three in a row at Bank of America Stadium, which is brutal.

Carolina looked great last week in a 41-10 road win over the Saints. They jumped out early and never had to look back, but that’s unlikely to happen again because the Panthers are extremely inconsistent.

One reason why I really like Carolina this week is because of their recent success against TB.

The Panthers have won three in a row in the H2H series while covering each time with the lowest spread being –5.5 pts.

This game will come down to the Panthers defense. This season they’re allowing 26.2 PPG (23rd), 241.5 PYPG (16th) and 114.9 RYPG (19th). Last week they played great and they have to carry that into this week.

The Bucs have one of the worst offenses in the NFL. They average 18.2 PPG (28th), 228.5 PYPG (19th) and 78.8 RYPG (31st). Carolina will stop the brutal Bucs run game and can focus on limiting the pass game.

Tampa Bay is just as bad on defense, as they give up 26.8 PPG (28th), 249.0 PYPG (24th) and 115.8 RYPG (20th).

That doesn’t mean the Panthers will put up 40+ points again, but they should move the football.

Carolina has to find a way to establish the run game. They rank 11th in rushing yards (116.1 RYPG), but only 22nd in points scored (20.7 PPG) and 21st in passing yards (225.8 PYPG), which won’t cut it.

Derek Anderson is expected to start for Carolina, as Newton will be out.

Anderson proved himself as a capable back-up earlier in the season and he’ll be hungry to prove that he can win some games.

4* Free NFL Picks: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers

Neither team has any reason to win the game, but I’ll go with the better team in this one.

Carolina Panthers –3 (-120)

Carolina is a better team plus they’ll be playing at home and they’re coming off of their best game of the season

You’re going to have to pay up a bit to bet the Panthers at –3 and I recommend betting them now, as this point spread will likely jump to –3.5 before kick-off.

Good luck with your bets this weekend.
