New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free Gambling Prediction & Week 7 Preview

Saints vs Buccaneers NFL Football Spread/Handicapping

The Saints finally got a win under their belt and then the bye week hit, seemingly stirring up more suspension and Bountygate stories.  If they are going to do the impossible and get back in this thing they can afford two more losses by estimation.

New Orleans

I see three tough road games pending but this isn’t one of them.  Tampa is a good opponent for New Orleans because they are a middling offensive team.

QB Drew Brees is breaking records while leading the top passing attack in the league.  The running game may stink but it is not holding them back – the 32nd (last) ranked defense is.  The Saints give up more than 450 yards a game.  Not only are they bad but they are taking chances away from their potent offense.  They should be able to make a better showing or outscore the Bucs if need be.

I love the line on this one.  New Orleans is still getting tons of respect being favoured on the road  but they only have to win by a FG to make you happy.  Tampa has a solid D but the last time they played an opponent with a decent passing attack they gave up 41 points to the Giants.  Take the Saints and maybe also include them in some teasers.

Tampa Bay

Tampa came out of their bye and just crushed Kansas City last week.  It helped that they were facing perennial whipping boy QB Brady Quinn but they also got solid production out of their offense showing some explosiveness that was previously lacking.  The Bucs are actually second in the ugly NFC South and need this victory if they want to entertain thoughts of the playoffs.  A win could keep them in and pretty much eliminate the Saints to boot so there is some juice there. The Bucs have improved from last year but are still not at the level they will need to be to compete in the NFC.  The defense has shown more improvement than the offense because the running game has yet to really click.  Tampa averages just over 100ypg on the ground but Doug Martin has yet to find his footing as a rookie.  QB Josh Freeman is still making too many mistakes but receiver Mike Williams showed up last week.  FInally

The Bucs are at home but other than that they don’t have much going for them this week.  Sure last week’s win was a feather in their cap but when a team turns the ball over 6 times it is supposed to be easy.  I think they are going to have trouble slowing down New Orleans on offense and won’t be able to keep up.
