New York vs. New Orleans Week 12 NFL Lines & Spread Prediction

MNF – Giants vs Saints Week 12 Gambling Preview

Like the car company that the team’s stadium is named after, the New Orleans Saints have the power to take it from 0-60 in seconds when playing at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and have proved it with four straight wins to open the home portion of their schedule.

The Saints and their powerful offense will look to ride that momentum this week against one of the tougher visitors they are scheduled to host, but according to head coach Sean Payton the team will be fine against the New York Giants if they can stick to their game plan.

That is exactly what the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles did in the past couple of weeks sending the Giants to consecutive losses for the first time this season, and it won’t get any easier for Eli Manning and company on the road against another NFC contender. While Manning has been one of the league’s better quarterbacks this year, he has struggled with turnovers, including an interception and a fumble in the loss to the Eagles.

Even with Manning on his game, New York is going to have to find a way to get its rushing attack going after registering just 29 yards on the ground against a Philadelphia defense that had been awful against the run this year. The Giants’ defense hasn’t been awful, but they are going to give up points against New Orleans so it is on the offense to respond. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Responding is exactly what Drew Brees and the Saints did in consecutive weeks before their bye, scoring 27 and 26 in divisional wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons to claim sole possession of first place in the NFC South.

While the offense can be the lead story in every given week for New Orleans, their defense deserves recognition as well after holding opponents to 23 points or less in each of their past four games.

As long as the Saints can slow down opposing offenses long enough to give Brees and the boys a chance to let their top-ranked passing attack gain some steam they will win games, and this week should follow under that category as New Orleans continues to emerge as a legitimate contender in the NFC.
