After losing out on the division title last year to Atlanta, New Orleans is on a mission to regain their spot atop the NFC South.

Miami

The impressive start in Miami has been a big turnaround from recent years. While it’s still early, Ryan Tannehill and company are looking to keep rolling and hopefully secure their first playoff spot in years.

On the season, Tannehill is 71 of 107 for 827 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The running game is lead by Lamar Miller, who has 134 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. Daniel Thomas has 21 carries for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns of his own.

There are 4 Dolphins with over 100 yards receiving on the season, and two of them are over 200 yards on the season. Wide receiver Brian Hartline leads the team with 18 catches for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back/Fullback Charles Clay has 14 catches for 203 yards on the year while free agent addition Mike Wallace has 12 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, the Dophins allow an average of 372 yards per game through their first 2 games. Leading the way in tackles are Dannell Ellerbe and Reshad Jones with 19 a piece. Cameron Wake has 2.5 sacks while Randy Starks and Derrick Shelby each have 2. Dimitri Patterson is leading the team in interceptions with 2.

New Orleans

Drew Brees is a man in a mission. With his coach back and his eyes set on a division title, Brees has been slinging the ball. On the year, he is 81 of 127 with 1021 yards, 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also has a scramble for a touchdown on the season. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Saints ground game has been a little messy this season. Leading the team in rushing is Pierre Thomas who has 25 carries for 100 yards. Darren Sproles has 18 carries for 65 yards. Oddly enough, the only rushing touchdown on the season is Brees’.

Through the air, tight end Jimmy Graham has been the biggest target. Graham’s caught 23 passes for 358 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wide receiver Marques Colston is next, with 14 catches for 202 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, rookie Kenny Vaccarro is leading the team in tackles with 16. He’s also got an interception and 2 passes defended on the year. Cameron Jordan leads the team in sacks with 3 while Junior Gallette has 2. Along with Vaccarro, Mike Jenkins, Roman Harper and Keenan Lewis all have 1 pick on the season.

Betting Trends

• Saints are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Monday games.
• Saints are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 4.
• Saints are 18-5 ATS in their last 23 home games.
• Saints are 10-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
• Dolphins are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 4.
• Dolphins are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Monday games.

Prediction: New Orleans to cover

Despite the good start by the Dolphins, the Saints offense is just too much. It doesn’t matter who is on the field and how good they are, Drew Brees will find a way to get it to them. New Orleans rolls in this one.
