Long live Perry Fewell! At least that’s what die-hard Bills fans – and especially Terrell Owens – will tell you about their interim head coach. It’s hard to argue with T.O., who was “Thankful for Perry Fewell” on Thanksgiving. Fewell is trusting Ryan Fitzpatrick and letting Buffalo take shots downfield. The result has been 14 catches for 293 yards and two touchdowns for Owens in his first two post-Dick-Jauron games.Bet on NFL at Playersonly.com

Last week, Fewell made another decision everyone wished Jauron made weeks ago: benching underachiever Marshawn Lynch and installing shifty, versatile Fred Jackson as the Bills’ starting running back. Jackson responded with 116 total yards and two scores.

Entering Thursday’s battle with the Jets, the good news ends there for Buffalo. The Jaguars and Dolphins aren’t models of defensive excellence, so we have to take Buffalo’s success with a grain of salt. Now, the Bills face Rex Ryan’s No. 2 defense. The Jets will sick Darrelle Revis on Terrell Owens for the night. Revis, the league’s top shutdown corner, bottled up Randy Moss, Marques Colston and Andre Johnson at various points this season. He’ll kill T.O.’s comeback in a hurry.

While Mark Sanchez has regressed into the shaky, inexperienced quarterback we thought he’d be from day one, the Jets can limit his throws Thursday night. The reason: their second-ranked rushing offense, which churns out 161.3 yards per game, faces the league’s worst run defense. The Bills allow a whopping 165.1 rushing yards per contest and 4.8 yards per carry. Thomas Jones and Shonn Greene are licking their chops.

There’s no doubting Fewell is a good thing for Buffalo right now; he’s proven that already. But the Jets are a tough matchup for the Bills and may end the mini-honeymoon. Look for Gang Green to avenge its early-season loss to Buffalo in your NFL picks.
